    Best cord shorts...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 12
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 160lbs

I love corduroy... but this is some really great corduroy! The material is substantial and soft with a cute, feminine cut and a higher waist. Then only drawback for me is the slightly short inseam, but I still liked them enough to purchase a second pair.

    Weird Sizing, Cute Shorts!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 2
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 120lbs

Pros: very cute, pretty comfortable, Velcro back pockets!
Cons: small thighs, a bit less stretch than I would like; not as comfortable for climbing as I was hoping.
I think the sizing is true, but the next size up might be more comfortable depending on the activity you're looking to use it for!

    High-Waisted Corduroy Shorts

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 4 and 6
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

These shorts really confused me. First, I know it says "cord stand up" in the description, but I thought "Surely Patagonia would not release a corduroy short for spring/summer"... they did. These shorts are definitely corduroy material, and the material is pretty thick. I felt like I would get super hot in these if I wore them during the summer in Utah. The fabric is more ideal for fall weather.

Second, these shorts are high-waisted, which I was not expecting. I was looking for a pair of shorts to wear to work and around town. However, I find wearing high waisted shorts pretty uncomfortable, and I only opt for high-waisted bottoms if I am going out with friends.

I am normally am in between a small and medium in Patagonia sizes. I bought a size 4 and size 6. Size 6 was way too big, but size 4 was pretty form fitting, not shorts I would want to wear all day.

So yeah, not sure what Patagonia was going for with these. If you are looking for a pair of high-waisted corduroy shorts to wear out to the bar in the fall, then I would recommend these. If you are looking for a pair of shorts to wear running errands, hiking, to work during the summer, etc then I would keep looking.
