    Favorite Lining

So I spent WEEKS looking for the best lightweight lining to wear for a big hiking/camping trip I took to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Glacier National Park this fall. I can't say how much I love these pants.

First and foremost, they have the perfect balance of loose and fitted, while the actual band itself isn' t tight, which is so hard to find in a pair of pants. They're opaque enough to wear on their own while still being breathable, but I was also able to layer them under my Patagonia Quandry pants, my Prana's, and under additional thermal leggings. I can't stress enough how much I love these. They saved me from freezing on a 11 mi day hike in the rain, and they kept me warm all night long. 11/10 recommend, and wearing them while writing my review.

    Warm, comfortable, technical material.

First off; backcountry customer service is awesome. After my order I received a personal phone call from gearhead William, as well as an email, to thank me for my purchase and to reach out and share his availability for any questions that may occur about my order. Each time I've ordered from backcountry I've received my order in an appropriate amount of time and I've always been happy with my orders.

My first impression when trying these on was that the fabric was different than expected, but it didn't take long to grow on me. The material was thin enough for me to question it's warmth, but I wore them out without a top layer in 20-30 degree weather to run some errands and was plenty warm enough. I am 5'6 and 150 with a small waist and large butt. I usually wear a 8-10 in pants and I ordered a medium in these leggings. They don't fit as snug as I would like, but the thinness of the material should allow them to fit fine underneath a pair of pants or snow pants for whichever outdoor activity you choose. The material is very breathable which will be perfect for moving. Although the fabric is not as snug to my thighs as would be expected, the waistband fits perfectly. These leggings are so comfortable and warm! I definitely recommend this item!

Great, lightweight layer for diff temps

These provide an awesome lightweight, non-bulky base layer that provide a little extra warmth while still being breathable. The fabric isn't as soft as some of the other Patagonia materials - it feels more 'technical' - so I was surprised by that but ultimately really like these. I'm sure they're going to accompany me on many a ski trip this season!

    Capilene for the W!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'9"

ALL Capilenes you purchase will serve its purpose very well. My mom travelled and explored Europe outside during the winter while using this as a base for her bottoms under her jeans, etc. It wicks sweat like no other and provides tons of warmth. She's 5'9" 150 lbs... went w/ the L and it turned out to be the perfect size. This is a great multidimensional piece that everyone should have regardless of whether you just want a day-to-day base for walking around or for using on the mountain under your outer shell.

    Great Baselayer

These bottoms are super breathable, insanely lightweight, but also give you just the right amount of warmth. I used them as a baselayer for climbing Mt. Shasta (with the Patagonia Simul Alpine Pant as the outerlayer) and they worked great. On the way up, it was pretty hot and the bottoms kept me from getting overheated, while when we were high up on the mountain and it was cold and windy, the bottoms did their job and kept me warm (with the help of the outerlayer pants of course). Excited to use these for skiing too!

    Nice Base Layer for Skiing

Bought these as a gift for my sister and she likes them a lot! Fit was true to size. These feel like you aren’t wearing a thing. Too thin to wear as workout leggings, but perfect for a super light layer under ski pants.
