    Capilene, o capilene.

While your little cherub might not be old enough to have a sense of brand loyalty, you can in the very least attempt to cultivate it with a little help from the Patagonia Infant Boys' Capilene Midweight Set. This two-piece set includes a long-sleeve bodysuit and pants made from the same performance Polartec Power Dry fabric as your own baselayers, which ultimately traps warmth and wicks moisture away—so he stays comfortable, longer. Not to mention, it's quick-drying so he's not sitting in soggy layers after spills or leaks. Plus, it has a Polygiene odor-resistant treatment, the benefits of which are obvious to any parent.

    • An insulating baselayer set for an infant
    • Polartec Power Dry provides warmth and wicks away moisture
    • Two-piece set offers adaptability
    • Sleeves have fold-over mitts for added warmth
    • Bottom features seat gusset for big-booty-diapers
    • Item #PAT01GB

    Perfect baselayers

    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 180lbs

The little ones wear these as base layers. The onesie is great for keeping the back warm. When they get older they can graduate to the pants and shirt version. We have the matching jacket as well. Great for winter layering or spring or summer attire on the mountain.

    Uncle Ian Comes Through

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Great gift for my new nephew. He looks like a stud in his Patagonia get up. Watch out ladies, he's a heart melter. Really fun seeing him in his new outfit. Great gift!

    Great find!

I was looking for a good base layer for our one year old, and this is perfect. It’s breathable and warm. This fits nicely under his clothes, so it’s great for running errands too since it’s not recommended for bulky coats to be on while in the car seat.

      Cutest little outfit

This pattern, style, and fit is seriously the cutest thing ever. We got so many compliments every time my son wore this outfit. I loved the warm, fuzzy inside and how you can flip the ends of the sleeves to cover his hands. It was a perfect layer under his snow suit or coat, but looks great as a stand-alone outfit, too.

        Kids need to layer too!

        • Height: 5'10"
        • Weight: 145lbs

This is a great layer for my 8 month old. Great moisture wicking material that is light weight and I love the patterns. My son is 20lbs. I bought size 18 months. It's a little big, but still fits him. I usually size up so he can get more use out of his Patagonia.

        Great Newborn Baselayer

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 12M
        • Height: 2'3"
        • Weight: 21lbs

Patagonia once again shows why they dominate the outdoor clothing industry by reaching as small as our newborn kids with the Capilene Midweight Set. The material is REALLY nice, so much so that I wish some of my clothing had that same feel. The warmth generated is great as well though you need to gauge your outerwear correctly with the temperature. The sizing is well on point as well as it'll be a bit baggy on most kids but my big boy fits these well.

        Winter PJs

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: Runs large

We originally bought these as a standard baselayer to go under our lil guys snow suit, but he loves romping around in these soo much that they are his go to PJs lately. They are durable and super comfy inside and out. My son is 2 and this is about the only snap one piece that he has, but considering how this material tends to ride up, we are very thankful that it is a snap top. Another fine product from Patagonia and love the grey color and fun font.

Sizing seems a little big like most of the Patagonia items we have, great thing is you get to use them longer if you dont size down. Well played Patagonia!

        Lil dude loves them

My 1 year old looks awesome in these. Love the material. It's almost got a silky feel to them. I bought the 18 month size for him so they are a bit large on him now but I like that. Plenty of room to grow in and they seem super durable but we'll just have to wait and see.

I formerly gave this item one star because we got one set with weird plastic sewn into the seams of the shirt. I have not seen this in any of the sets I have ordered since and this is ALL my son wears now. We love them! Changing my rating to five stars.

The top and bottom are different. The bottoms have flat seams that are soft. The top has rough seams that stick out.

I bought this same set again from Patagonia and it didn't have the rough plastic sewn in the seams of the shirt. I would give the set we have now five stars. Maybe they tried something weird with the seams and abandoned it?

          Great Baselayer for Baby

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Patagonia Baby Capilene is by far our favorite baselayer for the under two crowd. The onesie and pants are made of the same capilene as the adult baselayers, and performs well. It's warmer than a standard cotton shirt, but more importantly wicks moisture away from baby.

The onesie is key for long hikes with baby in a front pack, where your sweat can cause little ones to get wet and cold without proper clothing.

I also love that baby capilene can be hand washed and dried overnight, so we only need 1-2 sets in each size. We layer both pieces with vests, jackets, and puff pants as weather requires.

The fit is true to a wee bit generous. My boys are tall and outgrew other brands (Carter's, Old Navy, Gap) about two months before the advertised age. They can truly wear the Patagonia outfits as described (B is 9 months old and currently in 6-12 month size). If I could make one suggestion to Patagonia it would be for a second set of snaps on the onesie for a more "grow with you" style.

Patagonia baby gear is pricey but has been worth it every time for our family - we love having the option to get our boys outside in any weather!

My nephew is looking sharp, staying warm, and killing it with the ladies! The fit is great and he appears to staying warm as far as I can tell! Highly recommend this product from Patagonia as well as every other baby product they make, awesome!
