whats better than a black hole duffel?

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

...a black hole duffel with a trout on it of course. The fam has a grundle of patagucci black hole duffels for gear hauling chores. Had to add the trout model to the inventory to keep my fly fishing attire in one place for quick jaunts to the river. And a few voile straps through the webbing will lash a couple rod tubes to the bag for travel through airports or throwing it in the back of a pickup. Only one gripe--a lighter color liner in the dark black hole bags would make finding stuff inside easier.

    Best of Both Worlds

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was on the hunt for a reliable duffel for a while and I had a lot of options to choose from. It seems like most duffel bags these days features some sort of backpack carrying ability. This bag outperformed my high expectations. 60 L is a good amount of room for many uses, I personally use this bag to store all of my fly fishing gear and transport it all in one grab and go duffel. I am able to fit my waders, wading boots, sling pack, reel and extra fly boxes inside. It isn't quite long enough to fit my rod tube, so I just carabiner my rod tube to the side of the bag on the daisy chain feature. I am able to keep all sorts of gear in one spot and grab it for a quick trip to the river. To my surprise, the backpack feature of this pack is extremely funtional and comfortable. I am yet to use it on a plane, but this seems like it would be the perfect size for a carry on. And who doesn't love a good Fitz Roy Trout logo?
