    Bivy Down Reversible Vest

Patagonia built the Men's Bivy Down Reversible Vest to survive in the outdoors and keep you comfortably warm in cold conditions. A fresh take on a classic, this vest is reversible for a versatile style that is durable, rugged, and water-resistant thanks to the long-lasting DWR coating. The face side features a color block nylon plain weave fabric, while the reverse side features a lightweight, windproof polyester ripstop shell that offers a cleaner, more technical look. The vest is insulated with 600-fill recycled down, which comes from reclaimed down products that would otherwise be discarded. Both sides offer hand pockets for everyday storage and a welcoming escape for cold hands, with cozy micro-fleece lining built into pockets on either side.

    • A classic down vest versatile and reversible style
    • Recycled down keeps you toasty in frigid fall and winter weather
    • Reversible design allows for multiple styles to keep it fresh
    • Regular fit accommodates layering for multi-season warmth
    • Hand pockets on both sides feature soft micro-fleece lining
    • Item #PAT01JU

    Warm & Cozy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 185lbs

This vest will definitely keep your core warm. I did notice that the blue & red side does attract lint. Maybe it's the sweaters that I'm wearing under but can always see lint. Besides this point, I would highly recommend the purchase.

    Cool vibes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: S

Bought this for a friend's birthday, and his comments were "I love vests, and the fact that this is reversible is awesome. Keeps me warm in the office when they turn the AC up all the way (despite it also being freezing outside)!"

    Great Vest

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 175lbs

I am 6'1" 175 first ordered a M and needed to return for a L. The M i felt was too tight in the shoulders and waist for a sweatshirt underneath and it was just a bit too short. The L is perfect for me. I've read a lot of reviews and it seems for someone close to my size it just depends on how you want it to fit whether you should get a M or L. I've worn the vest a few times and the quality is excellent, very warm in 20 degree weather with snow in the air. Highly recommend the product. It is my first Patagonia piece of clothing, and now I know why the brand is so popular.

    Great quality, wrong size

I am 6’1”, 200 lbs, I wear a 41R in a sport jacket and have a 35” waist. If I were going to wear a heavy sweater under this vest, or you like things to fit slightly big, then a L is good. I plan on wearing just a base layer shirt under this for fall or spring and want it to fit a little closer to my body so I think need a M. Quality was amazing, very warm, would highly recommend.

      Amazing

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 6'0"
      • Weight: 195lbs

Its like buying two vests for the price of one. Very comfortable and warm. I love the fact that its reversible and has fleece lined pockets for those chilly days.

The best vest I've ever owned!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

This vest is incredible. Stylish, warm, packable, and durable, what more could you ask for? And just when you think it couldn't get any better, guess what? It does!... It's reversible!! Absolutely love it :)

      The. Best. Vest.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Height: 5'0"
      • Weight: 120lbs

This vest is the best of both worlds and more. You get a comfy side and a waterproof side on top of it feeling like your wearing a cloud. It is light and super warm. I would definitely recommend this vest to anyone

      Two in one

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 6'2"
      • Weight: 185lbs

Two sided, it's like getting two vests. One side is coarser than other which withstands rain better (not water proof though). It's a little stiff overall, and seems better as an overcoat than underliner. I also have the Nano in the same size which fits smaller and works better as an underliner. The Bivy is a tough vest though, I'll wear it a long time. Excellent fall purchase.

      Great Vest

I gave this as a gift and the feedback about it great. It fits true to size, warm, comfortable, and looks great on either side!

      Nice daily wear

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 159lbs

I bought a Feather grey color.
If you consider buying this vest,
I think it is pretty nice your daily wear.
      And Medium size maybe properly fit 5.8ft(176cm) +- / 159lb(72kg) +- .

      Crazy warm

I bought this as an extra layer to wear around town when I'm walking. I did not anticipate it being such a warm vest. Fits true to size, will DEFINITELY keep you toasty if you are roaming around in 25-40 F weather.

      Reversible!

You definitely have to pay to play these days, but with anything Patagonia, you're paying for quality and a life long commitment from the manufacturer. I've always wanted a bubble/down vest for its functionality (keeps your core warm, but your arms free) but with so many options out there, I was stuck. Did some research and found how awesome Patagonia is (have you read "Let my people surf" !?!?!). Bonus - this vest is reversible, so you can change up the look whenever you want and everything about it screams quality, from the material, the zippers, the buttons and overall construction. You can't go wrong with this vest!

      Exactly what I wanted!

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 6'3"
      • Weight: 195lbs

This vest is exactly what I wanted. Something to layer over a flannel and give some extra core warmth. Also doubles as a pillow, seat cushion on metal bleachers, and lower back support when driving. Large fits me exactly as I wanted. Well done Patagonia!

      Sexist!

      • Fit: Runs large

One of my female friends bought the ladies version of this vest and when I saw it I couldn't wait to get one for myself. To my great disappointment Patagonia has chosen to treat us men as if all we care about is matching our outfits and given us the "super useful" reversible vest, while the ladies get an awesome hood for their version. Lame-sauce. With a hood this would be a killer vest, but I'm not plunking down two bills for this version, and don't like being treated as someone that cares more about color choice than functiality in the wilderness. (And yes, this review is semi in jest. A hood would make this worth the price, but without it's just not as cool.)

      Perfect for around town!

Love this piece from Patagonia. Looks great, fits well with a long sleeve shirt or sweater underneath, warm enough for 30 degree dog walks without over heating. I love vests. My arms rarely get cold so keeping my torso warm is usually all I need when walking. If I were to stand outside in 30 degree weather I’d probably get chilly, but not unbearable. I typically wear an Arcteryx Atom LT down into the low teens with a flannel or midweight baselayer underneath. The Patagonia Bivy vest is great! If you like vests you won’t regret getting this one.

      LOVE

I hands down love this vest. I had been eyeballing it for a while and finally decided pull the trigger and i could not be happier. I have worn it every day that its has been remotely cold enough that's how much i love it.

Gets dirty, but so worth it

I got this for my fiance for Christmas. He is generally between a medium and a large, so we got him the medium. It fits him great. He wears it a lot, and he seems to love it.

His only complaint is that the fabric tends to get dirty and is pretty hard to clean. Still, it's worth it.

The best picture of it just happens to be from when he proposed.
