What does it take to be an alpine climber?

Learn what it takes to master alpinism through Beyond the Mountain, written by one of the world's best high-altitude mountain climbers, Steve House. Winner of multiple awards, Beyond the Mountain covers the actions associated with alpine climbing, as opposed to moral lessons learned like so many climbing books these days. Like his mastery of mountains, Steve House's storytelling can entertain any reader.

I've read this book and it is a great bok. Rather than writing a review about how great this is and laying out what he talks about in the book, I'll leave it at this:

If you're a climber of any sorts, you should pick this book up and give it a read. But then you'll want to read all his books and the books from the other guys he climbed with.

Vivid look into a world class Alpinist

This book is fantastic. Steve House brings you into a realistic and sometimes frightening world of an alpinist. He is authentic and entertaining. He is cocky and has the resume to back it up. I am a city boy yearning for the mountains. I bought this book to read on the subway and teleport me to the Tetons, Himalayas, and Rockies. I have missed my stop more than once.
