I was in the market for functional and comfy hiking/backpacking/camping/roadtripping/everything else undergarments so I bought the Barely Bikini, Hipster, and Thong to try, and WOW. No seriously, that's what I said when I was trying them on: "Wow." Super comfy, super functional, and stylish (esp. the bikini and thong - hipster is a little lower on style but DEF high on comfort and function). I've worn on multi-mile hikes, around the house, working out, with jeans and wow, wow, wow. Some visible panty lines, but it's a fine trade by me.

Yep. New favorite underwear! These are perfect for backpacking, hiking, or just any work outs in general. The material is super soft and comfortable, and super quick drying. And the style is so cute! A major bonus is no underwear lines! I pretty much only want to wear these. I will most likely get all of the colors. They fit perfectly and are true to size.

Best Underwear for Backpacking

Familiarity:

My favorite underwear to take backpacking. I've tried different styles from Patagonia as well as other brands and these are by far my favorite. No lines, wash well, and super comfortable. Worth the price.

I got these to wear with my looser active pants I wear for hiking and rock climbing that do show underwear lines. I wanted a pair of undies that had good coverage and showed minimal lines through my pants. These do the trick! They are comfortable and barely show any lines while wearing my pants! They are comfortable and true to size!

Bring Back the Old Style and Fit, Please

Familiarity:

These.are.awful. I absolutely loved the last pair-type. The previous fit, of the exact same "Barely Bikini(and Hipster) - Cuts" stayed wedgie-free through strenuous hikes and rock-climbing.....they still do! Thankfully, I have about ten pair for long treks and camping. I'd hoped to get some more and they changed the diamond-type print to the floral jacquard-type print, but that was not all that changed, they ride up immediately and non-stop, so much so, that I won't wear them at all, unless I am completing a wash cycle, so I can immediately take them off again. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on more than one pair of the new styles, because the fit is so off- completely a waste of my money. I really, really, hope Patagonia reevaluates and doesn't cut corners....and bum lines.... again. The older pairs are phenomenal and are holding up brilliantly. These, I'd never recommend. I've bought and worn both their bikini and hipster styles of the Barely underwear line from Patagonia.

Yes! I was wondering if my bum had got bigger! Don't know what to do! :(

I feel the same :(

You forget you are wearing underwear! Which is a great compliment - because they are so comfortable, feel weightless and stay in place during arduous hikes. I got a small, but think I could have also gone up to a medium.

Cute meets comfort

Familiarity:

I bought these as part of a matching set with the barely bra, and not only are they really cute, but they're super comfortable. The fit is super flattering, and doesn't show under leggings. These have become part of my favorite underwear set and I will definitely be buying more in the future.

This is what she had to say. These underwear are soft and comfortable as can be. I went with XL by accident when I ordered them I did not make sure what size I had clicked on . Lol ( it was a long day that day) anyway I will definitely buy a medium next time and I will have to return the XL as it's way to big for me.

These are my favorite pair of underwear. I initially bought two pairs to use when hiking and backpacking. I've since bought two more and wear them a lot - they are the first pair I reach for in my drawer. I like the full coverage - no lines across my jean pockets or half wedgies from a smaller cut. They are also comfortable. And I support Patagonia's missions as well as their use of organic cotton.

I take back every bad word I have ever muttered about underwear. Loving them on long trail runs as even my pants/tights/skorts with "built in" underwear chafe. No more of that nonsense. And they're super comfortable to even wear around the office. Pretty sure my disposition has become 50% sunnier since I've started wearing them.
