    Dominican Republic trip/ nomad camping

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this bag as my carry on for my flights and needed to stand up to pretty rough use. I definitely over stuffed this bag and it held up well. Here is the average: The pad on the carry strap and zippers. The bad: It took awhile to dry when it got wet. (Once I brought it home I washed it and treated with clothing waterproofer..and turned the shower on was better.) The great: The side grabs, the buttons to hold hand carry and the overall performance. Patagonia did pretty good on this bag. I would recommend it!

    Great bag, hate the strap

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really like the "bag" part of this product. It's light, feels pretty sturdy, has the right amount of space for a long weekend or a week long trip, and looks great.

The strap is where Patagonia gets dinged a star. It's WAY too long. I'm 5'10", so an average size American male, but I have the strap at the absolute lowest setting and I still can't get the bag to hang at the right level. Patagonia could probably lose about a foot of strap material for it to hang well. Just a little annoyed that now I have to figure out what to do with the strap when I know that Patagonia can do better and deliver a perfectly made product. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This bag is a great weekend duffle. Not too big, not too small. Its made of canvas type material so don't expect a rugged waterproof type of bag. I almost got the smaller version....glad I didn't.

    Travel Duffel

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love my Patagonia Arbor Duffel! It's the perfect size for packing (light) for a week, and getting away with just a carry-on ; because we all know avoiding check-in lines is key to easy traveling! I own the underwater blue color way. It comes just as pictured. The thing I love about this bag is the separate front compartment. This makes organizing a little easier when traveling. The inside also has a small mesh zipper pouch.

Fits great in an overhead compartment on airplanes, and under *some* airplane seats, depending on the size of the plane/amount packed.

My only wish is that it had backpack straps like the Black Hole.
