Nice duffel bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this to replace my smaller 17 year old generic duffel bag that got lost. I wanted something a little larger, and this bag's size is great for me. I'm about 6'1" and did not have any trouble with the length of the strap or the odd shape of the strap padding. I lugged it quite far through airports and it was comfortable enough for that. The bag was also large enough for 6 days worth of clothes for me (6 jeans, 8 t-shirts, 8 pairs of socks, 8 pairs of boxer shorts a regular size shower towel and a medium weight jacket). It also fit into the carry-on space on the plane just fine, though I would recommend getting boarded as early as possible since it is a fairly large bag for that.

Perfect bag!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this bag! Its perfect for quick weekend trips as well as longer trips. Has the perfect amount of space and a few storage pockets on the inside. The side pocket is also perfect for shoes or toiletries. The body strap is also extremely comfortable and the handles are still extremely useful when you need them.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used this on multiple trips and absolutely love it. It is durable and the size is perfect. I can easily fit a week's worth of clothing in here with no issue. I am very pleased

Perfect carry on

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This the perfect size for a carry on travel bag. We normally travel for about a week at a time and we hate to check bags. This is a great size and very durable. I would recommend it to anyone.

Perfect week trip bag

I recently got back from a week long trip. This bag was the perfect size to fit everything I needed. I love that there is a side zip pocket for access to smaller items. Anything smaller and I would have needed a second bag.

    Perfect Weekend Bag

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have a plethora of bags, but this duffel is the perfect addition and fills gaps in my bag collection. It's a perfect size for a busy weekend. I've taken it camping, to the cabin, on ski weekends, etc. etc. It fits a surprisingly large amount of gear and goods, and travels comfortably. The colors are great, material is tough. The only thing I worry about is the plastic clasps on the shoulder strap strapping it to the bag. They seem a little exposed to breaking, but so far so good. Just wish these were metal instead of plastic.

    Great College Bag

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got this bag for my sister for school. It's a fantastic option for any weekend trips you take while at school or even as a bag to bring all your dirty clothes home for laundry.

The bag also doubles as a great travel bag for my sister when traveling by plane. It is easily carried on or checked since the bag is a super durable polyester construction

    Dominican Republic trip/ nomad camping

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this bag as my carry on for my flights and needed to stand up to pretty rough use. I definitely over stuffed this bag and it held up well. Here is the average: The pad on the carry strap and zippers. The bad: It took awhile to dry when it got wet. (Once I brought it home I washed it and treated with clothing waterproofer..and turned the shower on was better.) The great: The side grabs, the buttons to hold hand carry and the overall performance. Patagonia did pretty good on this bag. I would recommend it!

    Great bag, hate the strap

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really like the "bag" part of this product. It's light, feels pretty sturdy, has the right amount of space for a long weekend or a week long trip, and looks great.

The strap is where Patagonia gets dinged a star. It's WAY too long. I'm 5'10", so an average size American male, but I have the strap at the absolute lowest setting and I still can't get the bag to hang at the right level. Patagonia could probably lose about a foot of strap material for it to hang well. Just a little annoyed that now I have to figure out what to do with the strap when I know that Patagonia can do better and deliver a perfectly made product. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This bag is a great weekend duffle. Not too big, not too small. Its made of canvas type material so don't expect a rugged waterproof type of bag. I almost got the smaller version....glad I didn't.

    Travel Duffel

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love my Patagonia Arbor Duffel! It's the perfect size for packing (light) for a week, and getting away with just a carry-on ; because we all know avoiding check-in lines is key to easy traveling! I own the underwater blue color way. It comes just as pictured. The thing I love about this bag is the separate front compartment. This makes organizing a little easier when traveling. The inside also has a small mesh zipper pouch.

Fits great in an overhead compartment on airplanes, and under *some* airplane seats, depending on the size of the plane/amount packed.

My only wish is that it had backpack straps like the Black Hole.
