Don’t break a sweat; use the BBT-9.

This is Park's shop-quality tool for installing your Shimano 10-speed Hollowtech II bottom bracket cups. It's long enough to give you adequate leverage for installing the cups with the force you need. The precisely shaped metal teeth of the BBT-9 won't damage the teeth on your BB cups provided you use it with care. The small end of the BBT-9 has what looks like a plastic wheel on it. This is actually, the splined plastic tool that you'll need for the spindle bolt to preload the bearings on your Hollowtech crankset. Otherwise, the Park Tool BBT-9 is compatible with Shimano Hollowtech II, FSA Mega Exo, SRAM GXP, and most other external bearing bottom bracket cups.

  • Get the leverage you need for your Hollowtech BB
  • Long bar makes easy work of installing BB cups
  • Precisely shaped teeth won't damage your bottom bracket
  • Splined wheel preloads your BB bearings on crank
  • Compatible with Hollowtech II, FSA Mega Exo, SRAM GXP

Ideal tool

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is a great tool. Sits flat with the notches on the lockring so that it doesn't strip. In that regard it's better than a socket and a torque wrench. The length allows you to get to that common 40Nm pretty east and doubt you could wear this tool out.

Does the Job

This is the tool you need for centerlock rotors with the through axle lockring. Fits the splines perfectly and has a secure fit.

Another Solid Tool

I think its pretty safe to say that you cannot go wrong with Park Tool's tools. There is a reason they are ubiquitous. They are high quality, and in this case multi functional as well

What you need for those CL rotors

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Should probably be sitting around in every bike rider's garage because at some point you're going to run into center lock rotors and you're going to need to replace them! I don't have much preference between this or another brand's Hollowtech BB tool but this one from Park has worked well for me!

BB/Rotor Tool w/a Bonus

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I use the Chris King BB tool for my threaded bottom bracket but it isn't deep enough to clear the end cap on my i9 superboost hub so picked up this BBT-9 to change out centerlock rotors. Another great tool and the shimano crank pre-load removal tool on the opposite end is a nice bonus.

Great Versatility

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Park Tools always delivers with quality, which is what I expected. Works for various BB cups, but I use the tool for installing & removing my DT Swiss centerlock brake rotor lockrings.

Great Tool

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is a great tool designed to remove BB cups without any problems. It was easy to use, fitted perfectly and gave plenty of leverage to undo my bottom bracket. The new bottom bracket went in just as easy. Overall I would buy the same tool again, making removal and refitting of BB an easy job for anyone. Please keep in mind that this BBT-9 works with external bearing bottom brackets, including: Chris King, SRAM, Truvativ, Race Face , Chris King and Opens Cannondale Lefty forks

Great tool

Unlike the Shimano version, this handy tool combines the BB cup tool AND the preload bolt tool. My friend with the Shimano version just lost her preload bolt tool and tried to use needle nose pliers, which marred the crap out of the soft plastic Shimano uses. Made me so glad I bought this one. Like most Park tools, it's well thought out, made well, durable, and a pleasure to use.

>Rating:

Does this tool work with ultegra 6800 11 speed crankset?

It most certainly will. It will also remove the lock rings on many centerlock brake rotors (and the ones that it won't can be removed with a standard Shimano cassette lockring tool).
