Seventh avenue meets Alaskan ruggedness.
Winter weather resplendence comes in fleeting, exhilarating waves that evoke child-like memories, but, alas, all good things must come to an end and the joyous zeal is soon replaced by wicked wind, iced over eyelashes, and slippery sidewalks. So, as soon as that dismal polar vortex descends upon New York City, just know that you'll be toasty warm with the Parajumpers Women's Long Bear Special Down Jacket. Inspired by the men of the 210th Rescue Squadron in Anchorage Alaska, the Long Bear Special Down Jacket is the result of an innovative, tough, and courageous creative team who in turn devised a contemporary coat that combines both technological components and haute-couture.
Crafted with a hardy exterior, the Long Bear fuses a polyester twill exterior and supple shearling augmentations that provide both paramount protection against wayward weather and uniquely styled hints of military spirited patterns—so you stand out of a crowd rather than blending in with the herd. The 680-fill goose down insulation ensures ample warmth while the underarm ventilation system simultaneously encourages optimal body temperature regulation. A detachable, shearling lined hood has removable, racoon fur trim that's designed to prevent sneaky precipitation or errant wind from weaseling its way in. And of course, the infamous and exclusive Parajumpers snap-hook secures the storm flap, so you stay warmer longer.

I always invest in a good jacket but it's hard to find one that check all the boxes: stylish, feminine fitting, not too puffy, and WARM. This one makes the grade - love the jacket.

I love love love this coat. I wasn't sure about the color looking at it on the computer but it is so gorgeous in person. It's not green and not brown... it's somewhere neutral between the two. The coat is so high quality and parajumpers is the only brand that truly keeps me warm in freezing buffalo winters while still looking dialed. I can't say enough about the customer service of backcountry and getting this gorgeous coat to me and how happy I am with the coat!!
I am interested in this product but I have a concern. I would like to know when this coat was released (which edition it is). I am asking because I noticed that on the parajumper website the coat is described as having a down fill rating of 730 but here it is listed as 680. I am very particular about the down used so please let me know what I can expect when purchasing this coat. Thank you.
Hello Cornelia- I spoke with Parajumpers and they did change the fill on this jacket this year. This jacket is last years model and new newer model is the 730.
Is it true to size? I am interested in buying but I am afraid it would run smaller since it is Italy made...Normally I wear M but not sure if I should size up or not.
Parajumpers is true to size in their regular fit jackets like the Long Bear. If anything this jacket will run a little bigger than other Parajumpers Jackets. What are your specific measurements (height, weight, waist, chest) and I would be glad to recommend which size I think will work best. Feel free to contact me directly with any more questions.
