stop hiking bath towels to hot springs
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I finally buckled down and bought one of these for day trips to hot springs but also traveling in general. If you're camping for multiple days in a row sometimes it is worth it to brave a cold bath. Ive only used this after a regular shower but it seems to work well and it is not the weight of a regular bath towel.

When you have to jump into the freezing lake there's no better way to dry off than this ulralite towel.

Lightweight and Quick Drying

Lightweight and packs down nicely! The towel absorbs well and dries quickly (even in less than ideal conditions), which is great when you're looking to fit in a quick dip during a backpacking trip.

Perfect for drying off after a quick swim in a high alpine lake when the water is WAY to cold but you know you have to get in anyway!

An Excellent Backpacking Towel
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I purchased the body size for a backpacking trip and it ended up being one of my most used pieces of gear! For those looking to shave some ounces, the hand size will suffice, but I was willing to sacrifice for a little extra comfort. Used this to wrap up in after an alpine lake dip, to dry off after a shower, to lay out on the ground for impromptu yoga - the list goes on. Absorbs great, dries quick, packs small. Highly recommend the clay color.

Great towel
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Bought this as a gift for my nephew's scouting trip. I asked him how it worked out, and he paused his game of Minecraft to say "it worked pretty!". Translation: great towel!

Perfect size
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This towel is the perfect size. It's not big and clunky by any means, but the fabric is of high quality to do the job. I highly recommend this for backpacking. It dries very fast and doesn't end up smelling like mold after a trip. Great bang for your buck.

Does the Trick!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Picked up a body-sized towel in the clay colour. After looking at a few options, these towels seem to be the smallest and most packable option, while also remaining functional. Arrived in a small grey rectangular zip stuff sack, packed nice and flat. First impression was that it is a nice earthy colour, and material felt good quality. It's nice and thin and packable, but not too thin or cheap feeling. The towel has a sewn-on loop with a button closure so that you can easily hang the towel on a line to dry or use the loop to roll up the towel if you choose not to use the stuff sack. I feel the body size towel is perfect for backpacking- definitely large enough to dry yourself off, large enough to lay out and do a good morning stretch on, but not so large that you feel you're taking up unnecessary space in your pack. I wanted to wash the thing before taking it backpacking for the first time, in case of any colour bleed. I took a shower and used it to dry off, and it works exceptionally well. I would say even better than a standard cotton bath towel. I was able to wring it out very easily, threw it in the wash, and hung to dry. It dried quickly and packed up easily into the stuff sack. What more can be said? Does the trick. Pick one up.

Small Packable & Does the Job
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
On days that I do a lunch run at work this towel comes in handy. It's very small when folded up, so it makes it much easier to pack with my running gear. WAY better than packing a standard size towel for sure. It dries quickly, and the material is super durable. Can't go wrong with this one.

This is a great towel to throw in your bag if you're exploring the backcountry. You never know when you'll need a towel - we've found ourselves using one every time we backpack for one reason or another - so this is a good staple to have on hand.

Gets The Job Done
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
If you want something incredibly lightweight and ridiculously absorbent, look no further. If you need something that's comfy-cozy-soft....look a bit further. This is great for travel or backpacking....it packs down small, comes with a pouch, absorbs a ton, and dries fast. If backpacking and weight/packability is important, you'll love this. If you could care less about how much this towel weighs and want something soft, I'd grab a Packtowel Luxe! Questions about this or any other product? Give me a shout! lmascari@backcountry.com or 801-523-4058

I take this with me everywhere. It's a great piece to have in a pinch. It absorbs well and drys quickly. It comes with a small pouch to pack it in and takes up very little room. This has come in hand anywhere from backpacking trips to trips to Europe.

Look No Further!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Everything that I hoped it would be! Extremely lightweight, body size is the same as a typical bath towel, & packs down to almost nothing at all. And it dries pretty damn fast! The few times it was still a bit damp I just crammed it in the little zipper pouch it comes with then hung it on a branch at my campsite later on, no big deal. I've used it at least a dozen times so far with no wash & there's no stink, so that's also pretty cool.

Nice & Big
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I picked up the body size recently for an upcoming trip and was surprised at how big it is - the same size as my towel at home. It was nice to see it come with an included case to keep it stuffed small.
