Scree protectors.

I live in the capital of screeland, OR and almost any outdoor activity involves loose rock. Recently tested these gaiters on some peaks. Things that I like: great balance between lightweight and durable. Full day of slogging through scree and snow did not leave a mark on them. Pack well and are super easy to use / adjust. Water resistant, did not get wet in snow at all. One small con that I noticed - in deep snow the bottom back part rolls up which allows for some snow to get in. It's an obvious flaw of stretchy material. They can probably be adjusted to avoid that. Other than that they are pretty cool gaiters. Love them!

    Scree protectors.

    Work well! Great color!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Used them for the first time on a hike yesterday in Holyoke, Mass, along the M&M trail, up to Mt. Nonotuck (max elevation 878'). They worked out very well. Most of the snow was packed, but at times some post-holing was required with snow up to my knees (I'm 5'2). I was admittedly a bit nervous about the velcro but everything held in place well. No snow was able to get through and nothing came loose. They are also a really great, pretty color. The only negative is the adjustment of the strap, which is a bit tough.

    Work well! Great color!
