Like putting your hands in an oven, but less painful.

Lined with the same sandwich of 800+ fill down and PrimaLoft One synthetic insulation as their namesake jacket, and then wrapped in a waterproof membrane, the Outdoor Research Stormbound Mittens offer serious cold-weather and water protection at magical price. By stuffing the super-warm down between two layers of water-resistant PrimaLoft, Outdoor Research ensured that the Stormbound would have amazing insulating powers even in soggy conditions. Just to be sure the down stays warm, it also has a Pertex Shield+ waterproof and breathable membrane, and a supple leather palm that makes it easy to use your hands without exposing them to the elements. An idiot cord loops around your wrist to prevent dropped gloves, and the hook-and-loop wrist closure seals out sneaky snow and devious drafts.

Absolute must have!

Tired of always having cold hands?...even when it's not freezing outside? These. Will. Solve. Your. Problem. These are so0oo warm! I love that the adjustable cuff that does not flare open at the bottom therefore decreasing the chance of any snow getting in. The extra warmth they provide me with in freezing NY winters. Yes, they have finger separaters inside which may seem kinda weird at first but that adds to their overall warmth. I appreciate this attention to detail. I bought them to walk the dog, run errands and can see them lasting forever. I'm buying another pair as I'm scared to ever be without them in winter months. Def. Enjoying the satisfying click when they link together when I come home from being so protected/spoiled by their warmth. They really won't disappoint even in single digit/ teens degrees.

Great review, Lina! Thank you so much! Leta OR Rep

Excited To Use It!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Haven't had a reason to wear it juuuust yet. I'm waiting on the snow gods to give us a little more love this winter season... BUT, I already love it. Surprisingly good-looking for a puffy glove, and seems like quality construction.

Thank you for the review, Carly! Leta OR Rep

Warm and Dry

I've used it several times

I live in the upper Peninsula of Michigan on Lake Superior so we get lots of cold temps and snow. These have kept my hands warm and dry in our worst conditions. Excellent quality. I’m a woman 5’8” bigger hands and long fingers and bought a medium. They fit great not to big but still some room.

Perfect for me - warm hands!

I've used it several times

Plagued by cold hands on dog walks, I decided to try mittens. These fit the bill perfectly: my hands are warm. The velcro wrist closure seals them up well. The thin fabric between fingers helps a lot and I like it.

Thanks for the great review, Michael! Leta OR Rep

I've used it several times

Loving these mittens with their Primaloft / down combination. I have worn them in a straight-up blizzard and they kept my digits warm and dry and also used them on a 40 degree day and my hands didn't overheat. I have some-what low volume hands and I love the way the mediums fit, not too bulky at all. I really like the cuff which seals tight and fits into my jacket sleeve easily, see picture. I find this keeps snow out better for me than gauntlet style cuffs.

Thanks Ryan! My favorite part about these is the built in finger liners ! Love these Mitts! Leta OR Rep

Rotten fit

I returned this product before using it

Primaloft and down! Figured these would be an awesome mitten with that combination. Absolutely do not like the fit and will be returning these today. First it is narrow. I have small hands but in order to fit in these I would have to go up to a medium which would make them too long and therefore cold fingers. The part I really don't like however is that the inside has finger a lobster. I tried them on numerous times but was unable to get a comfortable fit. And quite frankly I don't want my fingers separated, I want them together...hence MITTENS. Unimpressed with the design, too bad.

Sharon, I am so sorry these didnt work for your hands. I will ask the designers to review the fit, but we havent had that comment before. Still, thank you so much for writing. The separated fingers on the inside are a personal preference - lots of people love them , and there are some that don't. I hear where you are coming from though. Thank you for writing, Leta OR Rep

Mittens that you can work in.

I've used it several times

Love these mittens, got them for my wife for Christmas and she likes the fact that they are very warm and she can still to tasks with them on. Not to bulky, just right!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought these for my GF. She gets cold hands and was looking for a decent mitt that was low profile and warm. As a comparison, the BD mercury mitt was too bulky. Trial run yesterday skiing in cold windy conditions (temp dropped through the day, but 7" of fresh). Her opinion? Excellent. Easy to use with her ski poles, hands were toasty (actually quite warm like I've never seen with her) and not too bulky. She is extremely pleased with these mitts!

Are these WOMEN'S MITTS? Because the comments and recommendations of the page lead me to believe they are. They look awesome, but I'm wondering if I'd need a bigger size in case they are women's sizes. Does anyone know?

I believe OR does unisex sizing, so XS would be a w's S. The other sizes should correlate to mens.

How does this mitten compare in warmth to the Burton oven mitt? Durability? And do these have the fingers inside like the oven mitt?
