Perfectly fits my size and high quality made

I am 6 foot tall with a 40.5'' chest. And M size perfectly fits me. Haven't tried it on yet. The quality looks pretty good.

Excellent Product

The perfect Ski shell, so light and flexible but holds in heat and keeps water out. Very happy with this purchase

Good looking jacket but lacks durability

I bought this jacket last month and after only 9 days of resort riding the jacket already shows signs of distress at and around the seams. Disappointed and wished I spent the extra money to get something better.

All in all a great shell however...

To me, anyway, this jacket seems to be made very well. I thought it had a powder skirt, which it doesn't, but that was most likely my mistake. As for sizing. I generally wear a Medium to medium slim. I have a long torso at 5' 9' with a 29" inseam. Yet, this jacket was long in the body and 4" long in the sleeve, So order a size down and take your chances. I am returning mine.

Great Jacket - Holds Up to the abuse

Had the jacket for 2.5 weeks and have put in 11 days on the mountain. it has been my new go to jacket. 7 days in the backcountry and 4 resort days. conditions have ranged from a sunny day to full on storm skiing. The Skytour jacket has shown to be a great fit, holds up in weather keeping me dry on wet days, while being breathable during the uphill climb on the skin track. The material has shown to be durable while charging through the trees and slapping branches (other jackets have not held up).

Great shell for touring or inbounds!

I've just used this shell touring. All the ventilation zippers make it the perfect jacket to wear. The pits and front (from top or bottom) can be opened to air out. There's great storage with the 2 front chest pockets and 2 hand pockets. It runs a little big (I'm 6'1" using the Large) so it's got room to layer below for really cold days.

Awesome color, hardy gear

Jacket has been one of my favorite shells I've owned. Awesome waterproofing, great fit, well constructed. Can't say anything bad!

Initial Reaction to Outdoor Research AscentShell was excitement and relief that I purchased this item. I am looking forward to seeing how well it performs from repeated days of backcountry skiing.

Well designed jacket

I had to return because it was too large, but all of the pockets were great. I like to how much room there was in the neck and hood. Jacket felt bomber. Unfortunately they were out of my size.

Do not use Pass Pocket for season pass

This is a great jacket for a skiing in the PNW. My only complaint after almost a year of ownership is the jacket's pass pocket is heavily under engineered. The lanyard is always getting caught in the zipper, which tears it up and your season pass will most likely tear through the jacket itself. As a result, I no longer keep my pass in that pocket, and I wish that I never did since now my expensive ski jacket has a hole in it.
