Sizing off

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
Small
Height:
5' 2"
Weight:
120

This jacket was exactly what I was looking for but the sizing is way off, not at all consistent with other OR items I?ve owned. I?m 5?2 and around 120 lbs and the small was way too big for me. Sadly Backcountry does not have any XS in stock. I?m always an XS in OR pants but I?ve always been small or even medium in tops. So bummed because this product seems to be of high quality construction and exactly what I was looking for.

I likes.

Really cool, light-weather jacket. This is going to wear more like a vest because the arms are almost sheer. So it's a nive, really lighteight piece. Very cool.

Nice jacket

This jacket arrived in a very timely manner. It's perfect to run in unpredictable Ohio weather since it's water and windproof and has a hood. I was concerned at 1st because it's so light but managed to still work up a sweat wearing it. But if it's really cold I'll wear something warm underneath or wait a couple of days till it warms up a little before wearing again. I would definitely recommend this jacket.

Nice fall and spring jacket

This is a nice fall and spring jacket. I enjoy the adjustable draw string at the waist, which gives the jacket sleek/form fitting look if you want it.

Great midlayer piece!

Lightweight, breathable, and elegant cut that would let me feel comfortable wearing it to nicer casual settings. The arms material, while does block the wind and water, tends to run cold. I end up wearing a long sleeve or arm warmers beneath to counteract it.

Go to jacket most days

This is the jacket I grab most days except the coldest. Even then it often becomes the one I use under my packable down jacket....an older Outdoor Research!

Not quite what I expected but not bad.

Not a bad jacket but the sleeves are very lite and thin. I assume since the vest area was padded the sleeves would also be at least a material to protect from a little chill. This wasn't the case. It is not a bad jacket though. I will just have to make sure to wear a long sleeve underneath.

TERRIFIC exercise jacket!

I use this for morning walks and chilly runs in MA. Keeps me warm, even at 32 degrees F for both activities. And MUCH less sweat than a regular jacket. I wear it for activities at least twice a day.

Perfect for Running!

I've been searching for the perfect outer layer for running in chilly weather and this is it. I warm up quickly with this jacket wearing a Woolpower zip mid-layer underneath and additionally love the style and how lightweight it is. Wore it in light rain already and it kept me dry. Small complaint that I saw in another review is that the hood does tend to sink down over the forehead and I may have to find a way to pinch the back a tiny bit to lift up the front for better visibility. The pockets also have huge openings, which means if I'm walking and want to stick my hands in there for warmth, there's a gap above my wrists letting air in. I'm more of a cozy pocket person as opposed to a thin, ventilating pocket person, but lots of jackets seem to have this thin pocket style now. Regardless, it still gets five stars for overall performance and style. I'm sure it will work great for hiking with a backpack as well, given the streamlined fit up top. I'm usually a Medium in tops, but my hips are a Large so I typically size up with OR, and occasionally risk the shoulders being way too big. Overall, OR does have much room in the hips of their jackets and I usually have to size up. The Large just fits my hips with a thick mid layer and fortunately the shoulders fit great!
