Mystic Pant

The Outdoor Research Mystic Pant is ideal for climbing and hiking in sunny conditions thanks to the UPF 50+ that blocks harmful rays. It's also ideal for climbing and hiking on warm summer afternoons thanks to its breathable construction and thermo-regulating ActiveTemp treatment. And, with a weather resistant fabric, the Mystic Pant is also ideal for climbing and hiking at high altitudes where the weather can be a bit unpredictable. Whatever the conditions are, the movement-mirroring stretch keeps you mobile as you challenge yourself on a new grade while the drawcords at the ankles keep your feet visible so you can locate those small holds.

Not the right fit for me

Wanted to love. I bought these thinking they would be the same fit as the zendo pants (which i love), but the seem on the side made then stick out in a weird unflattering way for me.

Love these, particularly the flexible waist!

I am 5" 6 1/2", 137 and the medium fits perfectly. Hope OR continues to carry this pant as I would definitely buy more. So sad the other color is already sold out in my size.

5'6" 135lbs size: small

These hiking pants are exactly what I was looking for. Good waist band, water repellant, good length and stretch. Two functional front pockets and a small back zip pocket.

My go to pant.

These are my go-to hiking pants. They are super comfortable with a hip strap on and I can layer long underwear to make them a bit more toasty. I would highly recommend!

perfect for a counch potato day

Great for lounging in and the high waist keeps everything tucked in. Probably wouldn't hike in them given the lack of pockets.

Awesome Pants!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
Large
Height:
5' 6"
Weight:

I was looking for hiking pants that would stand up to scrambling but also had an elastic waist. These pants do the trick! I wore them to hike Katahdin, and they held up beautifully no matter how many rocks I had to climb up or slide down. Plus they were super comfortable! I think you'd be hot in weather over 80 degrees, but they've been comfortable so far this summer and will probably transition well into fall hiking before it gets too cold. I'm 5'6", 155# and I bought a Large (sometimes I can buy a medium in pants, but the large fit great for me). The drawstring in the waist is a huge plus for helping them stay put.

GET THESE!

Love these pants! The elastic waistband it very comfortable and the length is great for my 5'4" frame. I have an athletic build and it fits great with plenty of room to move around. They dry VERY fast and are decent windstoppers. Pockets are deep and very functional

Great pants

Love these pants! The stretchy waistband comes just over my hips, which makes these pants great for climbing. I'm 5'6", 130lbs, and got a small, fits great in terms of length and on my hips/rear. They're a little thicker than I expected them to be, probably best for shoulder seasons rather than warmer days.

Lightweight, baggy.

I was sucked in by the review that said these would be okay for work. IMHO they're too casual for work. I also thought I was getting the pants with the side pocket on the leg for my cell phone, but these don't have that. I'm keeping them because returning stuff through the website is just too big of a hassle.... getting authorization, and then not getting the credit, then being charged for some thing for $4... I'll just see what I can do with these.
