HighCamp Mitten

The Outdoor Research Women's HighCamp Mittens don't mess around when it comes to keeping your hands warm. Waterproof, well-insulated, and durable enough to withstand some serious abuse, these gloves will keep your hands snug and cozy whether you're climbing the Fuhrer Finger on Rainier or getting trenched in chest-deep pow during a dumper day at Stevens.

The outer shell of the glove is composed of a durable nylon shell, while a goatskin leather reinforced palm offers exceptional grip and durability. Behind the shell is Outdoor Research's Ventia insert for waterproof, breathable protection. And inside is a removable Radiant Fleece liner mitten, which is fitted with a silicone grip for added dexterity when readying gear in the early hours of the morning. Both a wrist cinch and drawcord at the cuff ensure a snow-tight closure.

Runs small

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My wife really liked these, and has worn other mittens in women's size medium, but she could barely get her hand in these. She is 5'4" and average build. We returned these and bought another pair of mittens in size large, but those turned out to be "unisex" and wayyyy to large. I really have to figure out this sizing thing.

Well made but weird sizing, very narrow.

Well made and love the leather palms for durability. However, very weird sizing in that it's very narrow, the outer mitten, the liner. Also, the nylon strap is very tight and doesn't loosen up enough. Seems like weird sizing and lack of standardization is a common theme with OR, from gloves to pants to shorts, etc. Too bad as it's such a great company. I think OR needs to have better internal controls when it comes to sizing standardization as I see these types of complaints with many other items.

Well made but weird fit, very narrow.

The mittens seem very well but and love the leather palm for durability but like many of OR stuff, from gloves to pants, sizing is weird. These are so narrow and the strap doesn't loosen up enough. The liner seems to be good quality but again, very narrow. I realize OR uses many different contractors/vendors for various items but someone is QA has to do a better job of enforcing sizing standardization. This is a very common theme throughout OR gear. OR is such a great company but it's these lapses in internal controls that drives loyal customers away.

Never cold

Liners slip in and out easily and are warm enough to have alone of temps rise or suns out. Very durable Material and I would buy again if I lose them.

Great winter mitts

I use them for pushing the baby around in her stroller when it's cold out and these mitts have been awesome. They break the wind, keep my hands warm, and have some dexterity-all night wins for winter handwear

Great fit with sturdy leather palms

Skiing and snowshoeing in Japan have been made much more comfortable with these mittens. Great find.

Great Mitts

This is my second time purchasing these mittens after wearing holes in my first pair. They kept my hands nice and warm, even during the month of arctic winds and -15 ski days we had this winter. The glove liners are great for skinning up too and are somewhat wind proof. All round great mitten!

Best gloves I have owned.

I am so glad to actually have warm hands after being outside for a long period of time. I have worn them in -20 degree weather, just walking around town, and these gloves keep me feeling toasty warm.

Great mitts!

I use these mitts when I am teaching skiing and also free skiing. Love the windproof mitts inside. My hands stay warm even in cold temps.

Worth the purchase

Finally a great mit comes with a liner that I can remove, I have a problem keeping my fingers warm in anything so I was impressed that I only started to get cold after about two hours in windchill conditions of less than 5deg. If I had to have stayed out longer I would have needed hand warmers to insert. But overall very pleased and they seem very durable.
