    Nice Close Fit

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 110lbs

I ordered this jacket to replace a 12-year-old Columbia softshell (that I wish Columbia still made!) The jacket it is replacing was my number one hiking jacket because it covered a wide range of temps, was wind and water resistant, and fit the body closely, allowing for layering on TOP of it for more water or wind resistance or even warmth. I think this jacket is going to meet all those criteria though it seems a tish heavier than the Columbia was. I just wish the peacock color had been available in my size! Speaking of size, I ordered my usual small and it fit perfectly.

    Best Jacket! So Versatile!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 155lbs

This jacket is fantastic! It is so breathable, yet keeps you warm and dry while on the move. I wear this jacket mountain biking and it is a perfect layer because I don't have to constantly stop and change my layering system on up and downhills. I can wear this on the uphills and it breaths well and on the downhills it keeps me warm ripping through the wind. I also love climbing in this hoodie because it is lightweight, stretchy, and the hood is helmet compatible. Definitely wear this jacket for most adventures and in my everyday life. I got so many compliments on the Elderberry/Wisteria color too! I usually have trouble with jackets not fitting my long arms and torso, but this jacket fit amazing without feeling too big. I am still able to layer a lot under it to dial in my system for no matter what I am doing. Well done OR!

    Your Go-To Jacket!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs small

The wife love it!!! "This is one of the most versatile jackets I have ever used! Super lightweight as well, I highly recommend it. Ideally for Spring or Autumn (Fall). Yes, this jacket has been on many adventures across Europe - Sizing is on the slimmer side"

    Great jacket to have around!

    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 125lbs

I wore this jacket on a recent trip down to the desert. It was great to keep the light breeze off. It worked great! Cut the wind like it wasn't there. It was also nice to wear because it kept my skin protected from the sun. It didn't make me too hot because it breathed well.

It was nice and stretchy which I loved. I can't wait to wear it on my next climbing trip when it's a little cooler. It offered me free range and I never felt constricted while scrambling around.

I did a lot of scrambling while wearing the jacket and it never snagged or got any rips. It was great to have on since it protected my skin from the sun and abrasions from rocks! I didn't love the feel of the fabric on my skin at first, but I got used to it after a couple minutes.

I usually wear a xs or small in tops and went with the xs. I could have gotten a small if I would have wanted to layer underneath.

    Great shell

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 130lbs

I’m gonna use this jacket! It’s light weight and very packable. Great for ski touring to go over layers when it gets a little windy or cool. I’m glad I bought the medium as others my size went with the small, it’s a trim fit!

One for me, one for my girl!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

    • Weight: 135lbs

After using my Ferrosi hoody for a while, I knew I had to get one for my girlfriend! Heres what I had to say about my Ferrosi:
"Any serious outdoorsman/woman needs a softshell in their closet. Works great as a midlayer or outerlayer depending on your needs. This particular softshell is a lightweight one, with good windproofing but wont peform well in very serious winds. I like using it as an outer layer for climbing, or a midlayer/outerlayer for ski touring,"

    light and right

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: S
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I love this thing! It's my go-to for shoulder season hikes and multipitch climbs. It's lightweight and packable, but provides great resistance to wind and just enough warmth to keep you going without having to add an insulating layer. Every active person should have one of these.

    love it

    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 160lbs

This is a great piece for fall and spring hikes. It is a lighter weight softshell. Packs and washes well.

    Does the trick!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

The Ferrosi is my go-to softshell for ski touring on wet/ windy days. It's breathable enough that I can wear it on the uphill without getting too hot, but really does the trick against wind and snow. If I have a good fleece layer underneath I often won't even throw on my hardshell for the downhill, and just ski down in the Ferrosi.

Size wise, I'd say the Ferrosi fits true to size. I'm 5'7

    Ferocious Ferrosi!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 130lbs

This is the best lightweight protective layer! It is super thin so don't expect a ton of insulation, but it is perfect for light wind and a bit of extra warmth! It is best as an active layer, so awesome for running, climbing, hiking, etc. The fit is nice because you have space to layer a little under while still having a trim fit. Like most of OR's jackets, it can pack into the pocket and there's a loop to hook it to your harness or pack. Love this jacket!

    Awesome Jacket!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 125lbs

I was hesitant to try this jacket out because I have another jacket with the same material that is really thick and not very comfortable to wear. The material on this Ferrosi though is perfect! It's really lightweight and breathable but also sturdy and will keep you warm. I'm excited to take it on chilly climbs this fall because the material stretches really well and doesn't restrict movement. The pockets are very low profile and will be great for sitting under a harness. Overall just a great and versatile purchase.

This is one of the most versatile jackets I have ever used. I can't say enough good things about it. Just get one and it will change your life!

    Great lightweight soft-shell

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I bring this jacket with me everywhere in the spring, fall, and summer. It is extremely lightweight but protects from the wind and keeps me warm when it gets a little chilly in the mountains! I especially love it for an extra layer mountain biking or when the wind comes in at the summit of peaks!

    Incredibly Lightweight

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 120lbs

This jacket was bought for my girlfriend who was looking for a good softshell. It wasn't exactly what she was looking for, but it is incredibly light and comfortable. Perfect for backpacking and adventuring !

    Best lightweight softshell

This is a great jacket. No way around it.

It's light, breathable, and kills the wind. I've had mine for over a year now and was just reminded how awesome it is when I was on a boat offshore the other day when it was 40-50 degrees and windy and all I needed was this over a long sleeve shirt to stay warm because once the wind was cut by the jacket all was good in the world.

My husband forgot his and was jealous.

      Best lightweight softshell

      All around-er

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I take my Ferossi on almost every outdoor pursuit. From hiking in Torres del Paine to ice climbing in Vermont. This softshell is super light and VERY breathable. Its great for cold, windy days that you're doing high cardio activities or a light shell for climbing. The fit is athletic and is easy to layer under and over. The stretchy material makes it an awesome shell to rock climb in, without feeling any restriction in the arms or back.

After a good wash, this jacket is also reasonably waterproof for wetter ice climbing days or light rain. Dries super fast also!

      All around-er

      Great aerobic layer

my wife loves her ferrosi. we live at 7k feet and the jacket is great for sun and wind protection, even when it's warm out. Also, she said she can run or bike in cool weather without overheating, and ski or snowshoe in warm weather and still be comfy. plus, the material is really stretchy and works well for climbing.

the jacket does not provide much insulation or precipitation protection, so look somewhere else if that's what you need.

        Perfect for Spring

        • Fit: True to size

This is the perfect hoody for when a cool spring breeze is blowing. The technical fabric blocks both light rain and wind, and it's stretchy, durable and breathable. It doesn't snag or get hung up on rocks or when hiking through dense trees (I live in a forest). It has two comfortable zippered hand pockets and a zippered chest pocket. It's lightweight, and one of the pockets doubles as a stuff sack, so it can be tossed in a pack and forgotten about until it's needed. The arm and body length is perfect, and the shape is flattering (not too tight or baggy). I got mine in Alpine Lake / Night, which is a gorgeous color combination.

I love the Ferrosi ! Now I have two!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

I bought my first Ferrosi Jacket (brown and black) a few years ago and have really put it through the wringer. It is my "go to" crag and alpine rock climbing jacket. This jacket has been washed a bajillion times and the fabric has not pilled and it is still water resistant. So if this jacket is so great why did I need another one? I really wanted to put a splash of color in my climbing life...and climbing photos! I went with the adobe red and it is sweet! I do not have any issues with the Ferrosi fabric on my skin (see the other review) and think it is a very comfortable jacket. I think it is a great choice for climbing, hiking, backpacking and just tooling around town.

        Very nice jacket

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
        • Fit: True to size

I had been looking forward to trying the Ferrosi jacket in a non-colorblocked and not black version and ordered the Adobe red. Adobe is a good name for this red, a really nice red with just a hint of orange.

It is a great jacket, good fit, stretchy enough for comfort, nice weight, hood fits, and the sleeves are long enough for my a little bit long arms. The downside for me is that with a short sleeved shirt the jacket's fabric feels scratchy on my arms, it made me want to take the jacket off immediately. I think most people won't mind the fabric but for me it is a deal breaker. I am sadly returning the jacket.
