Stay outdoors in any condition.

Go hiking in the Outdoor Research Men's Equinox Convertible Pant when a little rain puts a damper on your climbing plans. Its DWR coating sheds raindrops to help keep you dry out there, and you can zip off the legs and head to the crag if the sun pops out. The lightweight fabric dries quickly, breathes, and resists the sun's harsh UV rays. As far as performance goes, the Equinox features stretchy fabric and a gusseted construction so you can climb without the Equinox holding you back. This convertible pant also features ankle zippers to accommodate hiking boots, and a removable belt provides a secure, bulk-free fit.

Great Product, Too Short

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 30 & 32
  • Height: 6'
  • Weight: 160lbs

The quality of the product is great. It's lightweight and feels really good when worn. However, the length of the pants is really an issue for me and as a tall guy I need a little extra in the inseam. I purchased both the 30 & 32in but both are way short. It's sad they don't offer a long version. A 30x34 would have been awesome!

I also experienced the same problem when I bought these pants/shorts. Loved the pants and wish they would have fit. I typically wear 32x32, and ordered these in 32. The waist fit great, but the pants were way too short and the inseam had to be 30" or less (no where close to the 32" advertised). I was definitely ready for a flood. haha. It's surprising reading some of the reviews where people complain that the pants were too long for them. I don't know how this is remotely possible, unless they need less than a 30" inseam. Maybe I got unlucky and received a defective pair....

Great Pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've only used them once and haven't even zipped the legs off yet, but I'm sure they're great. 34 feels a little loose (my normal size) but the belt will take care of that. I really like the material. It's lightweight but still provides a decent amount of weather resistance. My only complaint is that I should have bought two in different colors when they were on sale.

Great Lightweight pants/shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34
  • Height: 5'7"
  • Weight: 200lbs

These are great for casual hikes and summits when you need the versatility of shorts at the base and pants at the peaks. Not sure they would be great for long treks with high impact as the material seems a bit lighter than others, but all and all a good pant and have enjoyed them so far.

Good pants, great shorts

Pants are too long. I'm 5"10 and wear a 38 waist. The pants are much longer than I would like. I am unable to hem the pants due to the zipper. As shorts however, the are a perfect fit. The material is great. Very comfortable and stretches with movement. Very light weight and soft. To have a good fit in pants length, you will need to be very thin or well over six foot tall.

    The Best Hiking pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 34 Short

Throughout the years I've owned convertible hiking pants from quite a few of the major Outdoor companies. These are hands down the best pair I've owned. Extremely comfortable to wear and rugged. I took a spill on some wet sandstone at Arches National Park and there was no damage to the pants. I wear 34-30 jeans, and these were a perfect fit. I liked them so much that I purchased another pair.

    Long shorts

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 34x32
    • Height: 6'
    • Weight: 187lbs

10 inch short inseams? Maybe I should get capri pants. NNAAAA. The pants look ok and the fit is good. However, the shorts rub at the zipper. I rolled up the leg to prevent that. I hope the mesh pockets hold up. Does anyone make a convertible pant with the short inseam <10inches and comes in a numbered waist. I doubt that I'll get to the medium size longer than a couple of months. These may be going back.

Hey there - Leta with OR here - thank you for the feedback. I will get it over to Outdoor Research. I don't know about anyone who makes a convertable with a shorter short, but I am sure they are out there. What's the right length? 9" Let me know.

Thank you for taking the time to write!

    Leta

Hi, I wanna buy this pants of waist size 30.

by the way, there’s no option for inseam size.
How can I opt for the inseam size?
Or is this product is for certain inseam size? if so, please let me know what the inseam size is.

    Thanks.

Hey Jaeyong, for this pair of pants the inseam length is fixed at 32". The only variation to chose from would be the waist size. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out via the information listed above.
