Puffy jackets are ubiquitous in the outdoor community for their amazing warmth-to-weight ratio. Unfortunately, most down jackets leave you shivering-cold once they're compromised by outside moisture from snow showers and humidity. Solving this problem of moisture ruining the down's lofting ability, the Outdoor Research Women's Diode Hooded Down Jacket features Hybrid Mapped Insulation that blends in synthetic insulation for added moisture repellency, particularly in zones prone to perspiration during outdoor adventures.

Hybrid Mapping places a PrimaLoft Down Blend into the body of the jacket, which is comprised of 70% goose down and 30% synthetic insulation (the down is RDS Certified). What this does is prevent the down from saturating with moisture in humid wintertime climates and inclement weather. Going one step further for maximum warmth, PrimaLoft Gold synthetic is placed in high-perspiration zones for fiery heat retention when you're pushing peaks, ice climbing, ski touring, and engaging in fast-paced activity.

The shell of this puffy is Pertex Quantum, which is soft enough to allow the down to fully loft, all without worrying about it migrating and leaving you with cold spots. The areas coming into contact with oncoming weather (e.g. shoulders, hood, sleeves) feature Pertex Endurance 2L fabric for water-resistance and extra breathability. Other notable features include a helmet-compatible hood with wire brim, plenty of integrated pockets, a double-separating front zipper, and elastic drawcord hemline.
