Why We Like The Crocodiles Gaiter

Great products, even better customer service!

OR gear is top quality and these Crocodile gaiters are no exception. And if for some reason you ever have an issue with a product, the warranty process is easy and timely. As long as OR keeps making top notch products with a top notch warranty, I am definitely a customer for life!

good product, needs improvement

I like these gaiters for deep snow and tall grasses, they keep my boots dry and free of debris. however, everyone I know has had the buckle for the strap that goes underneath your boot break. outdoor research's warranty process was painless and they took care of me, but I'd like for them to improve the design/materials

Great for forestry field work.

Bought for winter forestry work in the mountains. Keep you nice and dry and seem to be rugged enough to not tear in bushwhacking conditions. Getting the perfect fit can be a challenge- getting the hook over your laces while also tightening the bottom strap never seems to line up perfectly.

Reliable and well made - still going strong after 5 years

I have two pairs of these bought in 2018/2019. I initially bought a pair in large size and, finding them fine for heavy boots but too roomy for lowland boots, another pair in medium. I'm about 5'8" but with fairly long legs. I tend to wear the medium size except with my heaviest boots. Use is predominantly lowland hiking. The good: they're really tough - one pair has just developed a minor tear which I've patched with duct tape, but that's after 5 years of use. I've had no issues with buckles, as has been mentioned by numerous other reviewers. The not so good: the calf clinch can pop open - I have slim calves so there's lots of fabric gathered there, but it's not really a problem as you just clip it back. The flappy tab by the lace hook gets pulled open by vegetation and clogged by mud etc., and then the hook and loop fabric gets destroyed so it no longer sticks. I've cut this off my pairs with no detrimental effects to their effectiveness.

Velcro ear no hold

The Velcro ears on the bottom of the gaiters completely fell apart and separated from the cloth where the lace clip is. Over all they work well as gaiters but was not pleased about the Velcro falling apart.

What can I say!

These are the best gators that I've used and the customer service is great. I broke a buckle on mine and they sent me a new pair. How can you beat that?

Bought a set of these 25 years ago and wore them everywinter at ski resorts, construction, out recreation. Finally this morning the little plastic buckle on top broke. Gonna have to replace that and keep going with them. Any body know where I can get a replacemt buckle for the top?

Gaiters

By far the best gaiters on the market. I'm a power lineman in Alaska and use them daily all winter.
