Warm and stylish

The jacket is so warm and fits really well. Usually down jackets aren't the best looking jackets if for >600 fills but OR have managed to put together a warm yet stylish jacket that finds a place on a hike or an office day alike.

great jacket, slightly baggy

Slightly baggy fit but makes it easy to move around in and layer under, don't size down as it's designed to be baggy. Not designed to be water resistant and hard to fit a shell over so be aware of that. Hood sinches around the ears which is weird but it still decreases volume in the hood, just doesn't allow you to make a seal against drafts. Still a five star jacket.

Very good, not as warm as expected.

For the price, this jacket is stellar. But I did expect it to be warmer. Anything below 35ºF with wind chill is a little colder than I'd like unless you're layering underneath. It looks puffier in the photos than it actually is. But generally a great buy - 8.52/10 Pros: Price, style (good pocket and hood design) Cons: could be a little warmer

Warm, compressible, well designed!

I bought this for a warm outer layer when I've stopped for winter photography at the top of the mountain - or wherever I might be in cold winter conditions. I bought a medium which is what I normally wear, and it works perfectly as described to go over my other layers of OR Primaloft sweaters and GoreTex OR parka. It's a wonderful layer over everything that helps holds my heat for a long time, especially with the nice puffy hood to keep my head warm. It appears to be well made and durable and performs as I'd hoped!

Solid down jacket for the price

Just purchased this jacket for general winter use and so far it's been solid. Well-constructed, good materials, and a good fit. It doesn't have the bells and whistles that some jackets have but it also doesn't break the bank. We had a week of sub-zero temps, and this jacket kept me warm and toasty. It seems like it will last a long time, and provide warmth for years to come. Nice job, OR!

OR overestimated sizing for layers underneath

One of the few OR products I have that aren't consistent with sizing. This runs too large. Bought a L but it's too big even with layers underneath. Can't exchange unfortunately for a M because the stock is now empty, so I'm returning.

Almost perfect

I'd give it 5 stars if you could adjust the cuffs. It's the only area that needs improvement. All else is amazing

Best winter jacket ever

I bought this to use it as a winter jacket in Chicago and it is absolutely amazing. A few days ago it was below 0F with windchill in the -20s, and this was impenetrable with a fleece under it. It is extremely light yet very warm, and so comfortable. I'm 5'10 145ish lbs and the medium is great for layering, or using it with just a tshirt under (its slightly roomy but you just gotta tighten the waist elastics a bit). I love being able to get into my car and putting my seatbelt on without having to unzip it too. I got this on sale but would buy it again at full price because it's such a great jacket.

Reasonably Warm, Runs Large

I bought this hoodie just to try it out having worn the Helium Down Hoodie for over the last year. The Coldfront Hoodie has more loft and seems to run larger than the Helium (I'm 5'10" 75Kg and the Coldfront is significantly baggier on me). The quality of the materials and stitching is comparable to the Helium that I have and are very good. Overall I like it, but I probably wouldn't buy one again.
