Blackpowder II Pant
You know better than anyone that a perfect day on the snow doesn’t always mean just-freezing temperatures and bluebird skies—single-digit temps and overcast skies arejust part of winter in the mountains. Fortunately, the Outdoor Research Blackpowder II Pant also knows this. Outdoor Research edited this athlete-favorite to have a more streamlined fit, while still maintaining all the key elements of the pant for a functional, full-coverage design.
Made with a wind and waterproof membrane that's fully breathable and tough as nails, you'll have full protection whether the wind starts to gust or the powder is up to your waist. If you decide there are good turns worth hiking for out of bounds, articulated knees let you take unrestricted strides, and the designated avalanche beacon pocket is a perfect reminder not to leave the gate without your avalanche safety gear.

Great All Mountain Pant
Resort or tour these pants will do it for you. The medium insulation will keep you warm with layers on cold days but you can open up the vents with shorts on if you are looking for a touring day. Big fan of the deep pockets an their layout. If I could change on thing I would move the vent zips back or the wist pocket zips forward just slightly. The separation would help the distinction between the two. I definitely put a few things inside my pants instead of the pockets when I first got these pants. Now though I have gotten used to it and love these pants. The built in belt is great and the fit is very comfy for a full day out there. Would highly recommend if you are a chameleon on the mountain and like doing it all.

Simple Things Done Right
This pant isnt stuffed full of every bell and whistle, instead it seems to just do the basics right. The outer thigh vents noticeably dumped heat when I zipped them down, but they didnt flop open in the breeze making it look like I had a gaping hole in my pant. The waist has a pull-tab type feature that makes for a surprisingly customizable fit, and the thigh pocket was also surprisingly roomy and easy to access. My favorite part though was probably how it fit. It just looks like a nice, relaxed fit. Looks like a pant that you'd feel as comfortable wearing at age 16 as you would at age 50.
