Ascendant Insulated Hoody

Great as a standalone, or under a shell for when it's actively storming, the Outdoor Research Women's Ascendant Insulated Hoodie is a solid layer for beating back the elements while enjoying some cozy warmth. The Pertex face fabric is wind- and water-resistant and the Polartec Alpha insulation is synthetic, so it'll maintain loft and warmth even when faced with an unexpected dose of precipitation. Thumb loops keep your sleeves stationary, and, when paired with gloves or mitts, prevent snow from getting into the interior of your jacket. Plus, the adjustable hood is compatible with most helmets, so you can enjoy some extra protection while skiing or climbing.

Arms are too short

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

This seems like a great quality lightweight jacket; the hood is a good size and the material feels nice. It was a slim, but not not a tight fit with a base layer underneath. I'm a small in jackets but the arms were too short. I have slightly longer arms than the average woman but I don't typically run into arm length issues with size small jackets or long sleeve shirts. When putting my thumb through the thumb ring, the sleeves were short that it pulled my thumb back and it was very uncomfortable. I could size up and get a more baggy jacket and hope for longer arms but I like the slimmer fit so I decided to return and try a different brand instead.
