    Viva 65L Backpack

The Osprey Women's Viva 65 Backpack isn't going to carry all your glamping gear but it will carry everything you actually need for a few days in the wilderness. Better still, it won't leave your back yearning for that battery-powered massager you got for your birthday last year.

Osprey equipped the Viva with everything you need to rough it comfortably in the wild, like a efficient and comfortable LightWire peripheral frame that supports loads between 30 and 50 pounds. It also attached a breathable Airscape backpanel to help keep you cool and comfortable, even when you're hiking up a steep, sunny, and dusty trail with forty pounds strapped to your back. The bottom of the bag is fitted with a sleeping bag compartment with a removable divider, and the cavernous main compartment can be packed to the brim via the reliable top-loading design. You can cinch down the floating lid to save on space when you're packing light, or extend it when you do decide to bring along everything but the kitchen sink. Small items like headlamps, maps, snacks, and rain jackets can be stashed in any of the top, front, side, or hip pockets. When the end goal does require more specialized equipment, the Viva will smoothly carry extra gear via the dual front daisy chains, ice axe loops, and trekking pole carriers.

    • Traditional pack for heavy loads and long walks in the wilderness
    • Durable nylon ripstop handles snags on bushes and abrasive rock
    • Lightwire suspension centers the load on your back for easy carry
    • Easily adjustable hipbelt provides the perfect fit at all times
    • Airscape Backpanel keeps you cool through rigorous portions
    • Spacermesh harness limits pinch points by distributing weight
    • Plethora of pockets and attachments keep you organized and on the go
    • Item #OSP00BU

    Great pack!

This pack is well-made and well-designed. The pack is very adjustable and it can be easily done. One feature that stood out to me was the ability to change the division of the main compartment to have a separate area for a sleeping bag or eliminate the extra area making one large compartment. This is useful because it allows your pack to be arranged in multiple different ways. My one critique is that the rain fly is not sewn into the pack. It is tethered by a detachable cord but in the past, I have preferred to have a sewn in rain fly.

    Great Pack

This pack has tons of adjustment, ample storage, and convenient pockets. I was very pleased with this purchase on my most recent death valley backpacking trip, as it distributed weight perfectly to my center of mass, allowing me to better navigate the rocky terrain.

The osprey Viva 65 l women's pack, I'm a fairly small long-waisted female was wondering how to size this. I'm 5'5" 120 lbs. this will be my first hiking backpack purchased I'm getting ready to trek with scouts in Philmont next summer so definitely need something that can fit me well thank you

Hey Mary! Happy to help with this. Here's a link to Osprey's sizing guide on their site: https://www.osprey.com/us/en/fitting-learning/size-fit, which contains instructions on how to measure your torso length for their packs. Given your height and weight, this pack should work great for you. Osprey's packs are remarkably adjustable given the quality of fit they provide. This particular pack will work for women with a waist between 25 and 50 inches and a torso between 14 and 19 inches. For reference, I'm 5'11" 180 and my torso is 18.5 inches. The men's version of this pack is actually one of my favorites from Osprey. I've done 38 miles (see pic) in 3 days with it and been comfortable the whole way, so I think this is an excellent choice for you. If your measurements don't fit for this one, give me a call (801-523-4068) and I can help you find a pack that does. We can even swap out hip belts and harnesses for several other models of Osprey packs to get you the fit you need at no extra charge.
