Just what I needed

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Does the job while looking good. Easy to use and pack, compresses really small and is effective at it's job in keeping my pack and gear dry. Can't wait to take it to the PNW and really test it out

Small and Lightweight

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought the L to fit my 65L Women's Osprey Aura pack and it fits great! Really impressed with how lightweight and small the cover is. It folds up into itself so you don't have to worry about losing a stuff sack. Perfect size to throw into the top of your pack! Easy to quickly cover your pack and keep out the rain.

Thank you ! Leta Osprey Rep

Keep your gear dry in the wettest storms

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I ordered a size large to fit my Osprey Atmos 65L pack. This rain cover packs down to the size of a tennis ball. It does a great job on keeping my Atmos and all the gear inside dry on a very wet day. Nobody wants a wet sleeping bag or baselayer that was supposed to keep you warm at night! This will prevent that from happening. I am very happy with the purchase. I would recommend this to anyone with an Osprey Pack that doesn't have a rain cover already integrated into their pack.

Appreciate the review, Tyler! Leta Osprey Rep

great purchase

This cover is great! Kept my pack and gear dry when the rain got bad. Also packs down quite small, which is very nice.

Solid cover

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I was in a downpour that flooded where we were staying and this kept my bag and everything in it dry. Solid purchase

Keep your stuff dry!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Packs up so small that you needn't think twice when packing it with your backpacking supplies. Definitely a must for those spur of the minute storms or when you decide to carry on rather than wait it out. Wraps nicely around my osprey pack and kept all my stuff dry! that is all you can really ask for.

Nice and Light

Light cover for those missions where you might be dealing with precip.

Works great!

This works great! And secures nicely. I assume you can use it for other brands as well, since it just pulls around the pack.

Question about cinching

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Hello: I just bought this product. My last non-Osprey rain cover flew away when hiking through a rain storm on the TMB. I see a clasp on this one. How does one ensure this cover won't fly off? Does one secure the clasp under the Osprey pack straps?

A little pricey, but works as advertised

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have the Osprey Aether 70AG, and needed a rain cover to protect my gear. I bought this one, and it fit my pack perfectly. I have yet to expose it to rain, as my last hike was in a desert environment. I will update once I've seen its effectiveness in keeping my gear dry.

Thank you Monte. You will love the performance! Leta Osprey Rep

Worth the money

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm new to backpacking, and originally, I bought a pack cover from Amazon for about $10. I received it and it didn't fit over the sides of my Osprey Aura 65L pack. I returned it for a larger size but the width didn't change... Finally, I ordered this cover and I'm so satisfied! It fits snug and, best of all, covers the bottom and sides even with my Thermarest rolled and attached to the front. Like I said, I could not be happier.

Does the Job!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

If you are like me and don't like rolling into camp with a soggy backpack full of soggy gear do yourself a favor and get yourself one of these. They are so compact and lightweight when not in use that there is no reason to not be prepared for any potential wet weather.

Lightweight and Compact

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Only had to use this for the last mile on the way back to the trailhead on the Na Pali Coast, but it worked great with my Aether pack. Awesome that it packs up so small (about the size of a tennis ball). I simply stashed it in my waist belt pocket for easy access. Would recommend!

Solid pack cover

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I got this pack cover for a few months of backpacking through South America. It stuffs down nice n small, and fit my backpack great. I have a 50L Osprey Aura and ordered the size large — seems like there would have been plenty of room to put a sleeping bag under the brain, and possibly a mat across the bottom of the pack as well. I only used it in light rain (all the heavy rain was in the first half of my trip before I bought the cover, ugh), but the construction seems solid and I'm excited to put it to some more good use now that I'm back home!

Did The Job

Familiarity:

I purchased this rain cover for my backpacking trip to Iceland. Luckily we didn't get the amount of rain we prepared for. However, I can say this cover has done well in light rain and wind. Packs down nicely too.

Awesome

My only complaint is that this does not already come with the pack. This is a necessary accessory. Easy to put on and take off.

Awesome raincover!

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. He took it to India and it worked awesome! Used it on some long backpacking trips in multiple countries as well as overnighters here at home. It can resist high winds and stay on your pack without worrying it will fly, water resistance is good. The downside of it is it tears easily if snagged.

Haven't used but have experience.

I had one seven years ago. It's a must have with any pack.

What are the dimensions of the XL (L x W x H)? I have an Aura 65 and want to ensure a sleeping pad can be strapped to the pack while using the rain cover. I think the L will be a little snug.

Will an XL fit well over a Kelty Red Cloud 90?

I have a Eagle Creek Afar backpack 2050 cu in/34L. I will have additional gear external in the front web. I did not see a Small and I'm afraid the medium maybe too large and won't be snug. enough to keep things dry. Please advise. Thanks

Hi there - the medium should work well and is designed to fit 30-50L pack. Hope that helps! Leta Osprey Rep

I have an Osprey Atmos AG 65, what size rain cover should I get?

Hi Jonas, For a 65 liter pack you would want to go with the large size. If you have any other questions, let me know. Thanks,

How is it secured to the backpack?....buckles, internal bungee, etc? I need it for riding and want to ensure it will stay secure. I have a bungee held cover now and never stays secure.

Hey Richard, There is an internal full-wrap cinch bungee that will keep it attached over your pack, just make sure you pick up the right size for your pack size and you should have no problems. Hope this helps.

Richard, what size of pack will you need to cover? If its a small pack to ride with, I am guessing that you will need our Hi -Vis raincover. There is also a cinch across the back that is low profile so you don't know its there. Leta Osprey Rep

What size for a fully packed Aura AG 65?

Hey Elizabeth, I'd go with a Large. Ben brabinowitz@backcountry.com 801-746-7564

What are the XL dimensions? For example a loaded winter pack is like a Kelty Tioga 6000 cu in with snow shovel, snowshoes, ice ax, crampons, tent, 3 foam pads, giant sleeping bag, food, water, .70 or more pounds, etc.

Hey Bob, the XL is designed to cover a pack 4500 ci or greater, up to about 7000 (75 liters - 110 liters). Thats to cover the pack. With all you describe, I am not sure of the overall volume you have with everything hanging off of it... especially the 3 foam pads. Maybe you can find a way to strap some things on the outside of the raincover? You'll have to devise lashing straps, etc. Hope this answer makes sense! Leta Osprey Rep

When do you expect more of the XL size in stock?

Tom, It looks like we're supposed to be receiving a few dozen XLs from Osprey any day now-- keep an eye out! Lara LaBar llabar@backcountry.com 801-736-6399

Hello I have an Aether 60. I assume a large would be the correct size or would a medium fit?

I also have an Aether 60. Fully packed even without a sleeping pad in the cinch straps on the bottom the Large is just not big enough. Really just shy. Add the sleeping pad and the XL is perfect. Or you could do what I did... Order the Large check it out then exchange it for the XL. Hope that helps.

Will a medium be able to fit an osprey 52 liter pack? I understand the M is designed for 30-50 liter bags, but is there any wiggle room?

Hey Jennifer - You should be able to stretch the Medium around a 52L pack. Sorry about the delayed response! Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions. - Kyle L. - Expert Gearhead
