    A quiver for weekend warriors.

Osprey's Transporter 95 Duffel Bag is an excellent way to start and finish the weekends. The main handle converts to shoulder straps when you're hustling, and padded grab handles keep your hands prime while you wait for your friends to catch up. The top U-zip provides a wide access so you can grab anything out of your bag simply. Osprey managed to put pockets on every side of this duffel without sacrificing the clean styling. D-ring attachments let you add Osprey's plush shoulder strap (sold separately).

Exchanging for the 130 - great bag tho

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I purchased this bag for my son, who is going on a 2 week car-camping trip with his boy scout troop (he is 14). They all have HUGE duffel bags to hold all of their gear, and they pile them on top of each other in a cargo van. This bag certainly looks sturdy and up to the task, but it is smaller than what the troop leaders were recommending.

This bag is really nice, as all Ospreys are (I have 2 Osprey packs). Lots of pockets, and the backpack straps are a nice touch. This holds a lot, but doesn't look like the standard duffle bag, which I like.

I just don't know if this will be large enough to hold 2 weeks worth of camping gear (bag, pad, chair, mess kit, 2 weeks of clothes, day pack, souveniers, etc). I'd rather have too much space rather than too little. We'll give it a shot, but I'm pretty sure we will be exchange it for the 130. The 130 will likely be HUGE for any other purposes, though.

    Perfect for almost any trip

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this pack for a mountain trip (with donkeys bringing up the packs to the basecamp) - everything came up fine. I like the different pockets. I use the top pocket for my laptop if I'm just going for a weekend trip visiting friends and bringing ALL my sports stuff with me. Just one bag and throw everything in there.... put it on my back like a backpack and walk (not for hiking of course!). It just really fits 95L, and it doesn't look that big from the outside...
Haven't had it in pouring rain - can't say anything about that, but there was certainly no extra dust on the inside.
I haven't locked it, but I like the fact that you can put a lock on the zipper - will prob do that on future endeavours.

    An Almost Unmatched Duffel

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Most of us athletes/outdoor enthusiasts are starting to go the way of the duffel for its packability and the durable/waterproof materials that can go into it while keeping the outer shell still malleable. Behold the Osprey Packs Transporter 95 which, like most duffels, has a HUGE main compartment but Osprey was able to throw some extra pockets in there on the front and side along with some great features like multiple carry options (backpack straps, side carry strap and main carry strap). The durability is pretty strong with the 900D nylon outer and the duffel has a good look to it as well with some different though muted colors.

Downsides? There are a few duffels out there that are a bit waterproof so don't go thinking you can throw this around in a deluge. Also, the side and front pockets do VERY well in not getting in the way of stuffing the main compartment though there is some planning needed as if you stuff one too much you limit the stuffability of the other and vice-versa. Finally, the world isn't perfect as this is right inbetween a carry on and check size bag for flights which could be a good thing for the one-duffel person but you aren't using it as a carry on.

Bought this to hold my pack when flying

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This bag is large enough to hold my Osprey Aether pack and all of my equipment including boots and collapsing trekking poles plus some additional items. It allows me to protect my backpack and have everything in one convenient bag. Tough outer fabric and strong zippers. are nice features.
