Wine and dine.
There's nothing quite like sitting atop a rock after an exhausting trek through the alpine, unzipping your Osprey Skarab 32 Hydration Pack and unearthing the most glorious sandwich of all time. After all —long hikes are basically an excuse to have a glorified picnic. Built to carry your snacks, water, extra layers, and other basic necessities throughout the course of your dayhike or travels, the Skarab is designed with a framesheet suspension system that disperses the weight of your load across the entire pack while the BioStretch harness and integrated hipbelt reduces weight placed on your spine. The side compression straps help stabilize the load and the myriad of external and internal pockets accommodate on-the-go access to necessities like snacks, sunglasses, or rain shell. Additionally, the trekking pole attachments are easy to use and make trekking through variegated territory a no-brainer. Not to mention, the Skarab 32 is equipped with a separate hydration compatible sleeve and the Hydraulics LT 2.5L reservoir is included with the pack. So whether you're wining and dining atop Mount Katahdin or navigating a day hike through Chautauqua National Park, the Skarab 32 provides paramount performance with its hike-friendly features.

Just got in.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
We are planning a trip to Yellowstone next year and I wanted to buy my wife and myself some nice hydration day packs. I bought this for myself and it is the first Osprey I have ever owned. Actually this would be the first sport focused pack that I have bought. I received it in the mail promptly and was very satisfied with the pack. I am the type of person that has to open every pocket and check all the clips, zippers, bells, and whistles. This pack has a nice fit and finish. There were no stray strings sticking out or sticking zippers. I have owned plain Camelbacks in the past and the bladder on the Osprey looks better than the older Camelbacks. To clean and maintain anyway. I hope to use this pack quite often for different things not just hiking. I will give a review later on its dependability.
Update: My family and I hiked about 10 miles in the Great Smoky Mountains during fall break and this pack is very comfortable, with plenty of room for a long day hike. I could even use it on an over-night bag as well. It was very comfortable. I had a change of clothes, a jacket, some food, a go pro, a cannon dslr camera, binoculars, extra camera lens, and water packed with me and still had plenty of room. Going to a true hiking pack over a traditional back pack was an investment well made.
Great Pack!

This is a great hiking pack! It fits all that you will need for a longer day hike and more! The Hydraulics Reservoir is also awesome. Fit is fantastic, and quality is on par with Osprey, which is always GREAT! This pack also breathes really well, and will keep you cool on hikes!

This version of the pack looks different from the osprey website. Could you explain the differences?
My first response did not come through! Good Catch! The Osprey image is correct. We made functional upgrades to the pack after releasing the image to Backcountry. I will ask them to update their image. Thank you!
