Swallows gear/clothes & holds tech safe
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Bought this for plane travel and double duty as work daypack. I'm a big fan of Osprey packs having accumulated a sizeable selection over the years (I've got a variety for multi day backpacking, ultra light day pack, hydration pack for biking, and several of their travel series--e.g. meridian wheeled, farpoint etc.,). In general, the features of all the packs are great, durability is very good and on the odd occasion I've had an issue, Osprey Warranty (lifetime) has been easy to deal with. Back to this pack--I chose this over the Ozone 35 as I wanted the extra space and I liked that I can stuff the pack straps on this model away (can't do that on the 35). For multiweek extended international travel, I've been able to take my Farpoint 70 and this as my two 'carry on pieces (neither packed full). Then I've been able to buy gear and souvenirs, and then check the farpoint 70l pack (it has a lockable zipper) and then I carryon the farpoint daypack and this ozone on the return. By tucking the pack straps on this, I can have the farpoint on my back and this in a hand for fast passage through airports, train terminals and subways--with a hand free for accessing doors, documents and money etc., When traveling, makes a great daypack as I can buy fruit and food from markets and grocery stores and there is plenty of space and even separate compartments to hold it along with hoody and rain gear and your laptop etc., If there is a downside...its so big that it doesn't force you to prioritize and leave anything behind. By itself, it works well for overnighters and short work trips where it easily holds your tech gear (padded laptop sleeve etc.,) and a few days of clothing. Finally--the interior is a bright lime green (I have the dark gray pack)--this works great for being able to easily see/find your things in the pack. Another home run by the folks at Osprey.
