Intelligent design in a compact package.

Light and lean, but generously equipped like its larger siblings, the Osprey Women's Mira 18 Hydration Pack carries your goodies, gear, and hydration for an afternoon in the wild. Women-specific shoulder straps, hip-belt, and torso sizing provide a precise fit and enduring comfort, while plentiful pockets and organizing features keep everything tidy and conveniently accessible. It also includes a 2.5 liter reservoir to handle your hydration needs on long treks, and its Anti-Gravity suspension system supports and stabilizes your load so you barely even notice you're wearing a pack.

The Anti-Gravity suspension system uses a combination of different design elements—a LightWire frame, mesh back panel, BioStretch shoulder harness, and AG hip belt—to distribute weight, enhance breathability, and achieve a comfortable fit, no matter how far you roam. The included reservoir also has a hose with a magnetic sternum strap bite valve so you can take quick sips on the go. The main compartment offers room for an extra layer, lunch, and other trail accessories, and dual upper and lower compression straps help you keep your load compact. A helmet attachment loop lets you hook up your brain bucket when you go on climbing or biking missions, and the integrated rain cover can be easily deployed when an unexpected storm rolls in.

My First Osprey

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used this for a 15-mile summer day hike and a 10-mile winter day hike. Before this pack, I used a normal backpack for hiking. And I'll never go back. The anti-gravity support with the mesh back panel is amazing! Even fully stuffed, there were times I'd forget the pack was there. It centers the weight perfectly on my back vs. having a backpack sliding around with every step. Love the magnetic bite valve and the rain cover that tucks in. Other reviewers mention the pack squeaks, mine doesn't. A few cons: The hip belt pockets' zippers are at an awkward angle and my iPhone 6 doesn't fit in it, more ideal for a pocket knife or keys. Haven't figure out the trekking pole storage loops either. This pack was less practical for a winter hike, as I was frequently changing layers and having to remove everything to get what I needed & re-cinch the pack. (Bonus: you can get snow shoes strapped to the pack if you're handy with bungee cords). Overall a stellar first pack, will definitely be upgrading to a bigger size for several-day hikes.

One bag to rule them all

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Once one friend has this bag, everyone they know will want one. This bags anti gravity support system is so comfortable and really takes the weight of your pack and distributes it evenly so you really don't notice it. Along with its comfort, and practicality it also looks really nice when you're wearing it. I got this for my mom, but i'm sure she won't be the only one using it...

Great Gift for Mom

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this as a gift for my mom when we hiked around Moab. Super convenient for carrying water, snacks, first aid kit, or anything else you need while out on the trail. She really loves the amount of support the bag gives and hopes to have it for years to come.

Perfect day hiker

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just got this for my girlfriend who is spending a couple months in Costa Rica. This will be her day pack, it is perfect for it because there is a hydration reservoir, plenty of storage space, and tons of ventilation. Her favorite part of the pack is the suspension system. The AG (anti gravity) system literally hugs your body, you hardly feel like you are wearing anything. Not to mention it is made completely of mesh so it breathes really well for hot day hikes. This is the perfect day hiker pack, and everyone should own it!

Customer Feedback

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My girl Lauren got this pack a few weeks ago and gave it a spin in Shenandoah National Park and had some feedback to share:

We hit some of the AT and falls. Pack worked great for day hike! Enough room for the essentials and extra layer for cold and rain, food, and snacks. The suspension system in the Mira is great and cuts down on the feel of the weight you are actually carrying. Very comfortable and I have been recommending the Manta and Mira.*

The Manta is the Men's version of this pack. The sizing for back length is the same from M to F versions but the women's packs have straps that cut back to the pack sooner -- to get out of the way the chest and giving ladies a better range of motion.

Day Hiking Remedy

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Day hiking still requires a load of stuff to take. This pack provides ample space and with the different compartments one can be very organized. The hydration system fits neatly at the back. The bite valve is easy to use with a strong magnet catch and easy reach for drinks on the go. Water from the included hydration system taste great without the yucky plastic taste. The middle compartment is large enough for snacks, jackets, gloves and spare socks. The rain cover is tucked nicely in a bottom zippered area out of the way but there if needed. The comfortable waist strap contains more side compartments that are handy for cell phone, keys or cameras. My favorite part is the "air speed" technology that gives some space between your back and the pack for keeping cool.
