Adapts to your schedule.
Sometimes, the right kind of trip calls for both a rolling bag and backpack. Those are usually the best kinds of adventures. When you're packing, throw your gear in Osprey's Meridian 28 Rolling Convertible Backpack so you can stay light on your feet through airports, train stations, and sun-drenched locales. The intelligent design comes with a cavernous main compartment separated into four zippered pockets to organize the majority of your gear. It fits into Osprey's HighRoad chassis, with an extender handle and rolling wheels that are prepared to blast over a whole lot more than just uneven sidewalks.
Once you reach your destination, unzip the harness and shoulder the Meridian's removable day pack to ford river crossings or explore the rambling side streets around your current base camp. The bag comes complete with Osprey's renowned suspension system, which distributes weight evenly across your back and hips and accommodates a wide range of torso sizes with adjustable straps. Once you're ready to get on the move again, pack up everything efficiently using the internal compression straps, buckle the pack, and roll your gear on to the next destination.

- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I gave this bag to my mom as a gift and she loves it! She also has the 80L sojourn bag from Osprey. This one is a little smaller, but has the added bonus of the detachable day pack! She often goes on trips where she is walking on snowy streets where she doesn't want to drag her bag. The backpack straps are extremely well built, yet are very easy to pack down and stow away.
Makes me happy every time I use it!

I got this bag to pack for extended trips that I take for my job. I wanted something that rolled to make my transits (which often include stairs, gangways, long walks, and uneven surfaces) to/from the airport as easy as possible. I'm still so happy that I got this bag instead of one of the many other rolling duffels that I considered! The big wheels not only roll smoothly but roll well on almost any surface, and their size means I can go up/down curbs no problem! The paddled handles make hauling the bag up/down stairs or in/out of vehicles a much more enjoyable experience than any other bag I've ever traveled with! And the daypack! It fits my large Mac and is SO comfy to wear! I've worn it for travel, hikes, day trips around a city...all great! The mesh back means my back feels the breeze!!! The stiff structure takes a minute to get used to but is awesome once you do! And the VERY BEST PART is definitely the ability to pack the bag & the daypack full, and still be able to clip the daypack to the front. I can easily roll all my junk on my transits and it makes me SOO happy every time!!! Also it's handled several international airline trips being checked with just minor wear (few stains)!! I haven't checked it with the daypack attached though. I expect this bag to last for a long time! I do wish there was slightly bigger version of this bag since my trips can sometimes but up to 2 months...but instead I'm learning to pack lighter ;) 100% recommend! Well worth the price!!!
Tons of baggage

Needed an update to my luggage profile so that I am not breaking myself hauling around large duffles every time I go anywhere. Looked at lots of options, and ultimately settled on the meridian. Absolutely the right choice. The quality is top notch and it is so perfectly designed for travel. Right where you need a pocket, there is one. It is impressively roomy so you can over pack, and the sidewalls keep your stuff secure in your bag. The wheels are basically rollerblade wheels which allows them to be not just durable, but also pretty quiet which is a nice feature when you're rolling through the airport weaving in and out of traffic. Finally, the option to throw on the straps in case the elevator is out just adds to the usability of this fantastic piece of gear beautifully equipped to carry the rest of your gear.
