Ready for anything.
From extended day hikes to summit pushes, the simple and functional Osprey Kestrel 28 Backpack carries the day's gear without making your shoulders suffer. The thoughtful layout puts pockets at the front, sides, and top of the pack for easy access to gear when you're on the trail, while the large, top-loading main compartment easily carries upwards of thirty pounds of gear for those more heavily loaded hikes and summit attempts. Osprey hooked the Kestrel up with its Lightwire suspension frame for efficient and comfortable weight distribution, then added a breathable Airscape backpanel to help keep your back cool and comfortable even when you're working hard to carry all of your essential gear. The Kestrel comes with an integrated rain cover, ice axe loop, and hydration sleeve that will easily accept a three-liter bladder, so you don't have to stop and pull out water bottles every time you get a little thirsty.

Wish they had a women's version!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I love the size and features of this Kestrel 28. Perfect top loader size with great features! I just would like to see the women's version in this size. Ladies, if you are eyeing the Kestrel 28 or 32, check out the Kyte 36 for the same pack with a little more room, sized a bit smaller for women!
