Safety for big backcountry adventures.
Designed for all-day tours, yurt trips, and professional guides, the Osprey Kamber ABS Compatible 42 Backpack offers tons of space to store gear and is ABS airbag-compatible (not included) for increased safety in the backcountry.
The ABS Vario system uses a nitrogen canister (also not included) to rapidly inflate dual 85-liter airbags, which surround your upper body to keep you afloat in the event of a slide and also protect you from trauma. The conveniently placed pyrotechnic-pneumatic handle is easy to reach at the first sign of an avalanche, so you don't waste any precious seconds. Should one of your partners trigger a slide, the front panel offers quick access to your probe and shovel. When conditions are extremely stable, you can leave the ABS system in the car to save weight.
With a weight capacity of up to 50 pounds, the Kamber 42 can easily haul all the gear, layers, and food you need for a weekend at a remote hut. The LightWire suspension frame, padded hipbelt, and contoured back panel ensure comfort and support while you skin. And when you need to boot up a couloir, ski and snowboard carry options lock down your shred sticks.

- Q & A
I Have a BCA carbon fiber pole that is 340 cm long. When broken down it measures ~19 inches. Will that fit in the back access panel for avy gear?
