    Escape the city.

Spend a few hours mountain biking in the canyons with Osprey's Escapist 25 Backpack. Its BioStretch harness adjusts the mesh-lined, padded shoulder straps and waist belt for a personalized fit, and the AirScape back panel ensures ventilation. There's an external hydration sleeve for your own reservoir, and a removable rain cover inside the bottom compartment. You can also use the bottom compartment to separate dirty shoes from clean clothes, and there are stretchy pockets at the front and sides to stow water bottles and rain shells. The zippered front pocket is perfect for tool kits, and the zippered top protects your sunglasses while the shoulder pocket stores your smartphone.

Best airline and travel Back Pack!!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Best airline travel pack for two main reasons: First off because it is about the largest size bag that you can use for your personal item, in addition to having an authorized airline size roll aboard luggage to fit in the overhead bin. Secondly, Because it does not have an internal pack frame, you can cinch it down with the compression straps and additional straps to in ensure that is small enough to be considered a personal item, vice a second carry-on. The air scape Ventilation system is adequate at making the Escapist 25L comfortable to carry, and because it is pliable (not framed) you can easily stuff under the seat. The lower pocket that separates from the main top section, is perfect for spreading out your load. The lowet pocket can accommodate a pair shoes and flip-flops...or changes of clothes. Due to the lack of frame, this pack is not designed to carry a lot of weight. But at 25 L, it is capable of holding a good amount of gear, as long as it is not too heavy and bulky. On a recent trip I carried an iPad and iPhone with all of the chargers and cables to watch via the hotel television..mobile battery charger, etc. I had 2 days worth of snacks in the lower compartment, mainly of nuts and protein bars. The side pouches are perfect for tall water bottles, and if they have a loop at the top they can be looped through part of the compression straps for stability. I carried an extra set of clothing, as well as a jacket and hats and gloves. Lastly I had a decent size Osprey roll up shaving kit.

Great on the plane or train to carry all close at hand personal items, but small enough to cinch down for a light back for every day use, ie around town, biking or day hiking, etc. The Osprey Day Lite Plus is 20L with no structure..This is 25L with very good structure!!! I used to have the Escapist 32L, but traded it for the 25L because with the 32L, it is too big and can carry too much to not have a frame...Way Too Unwieldy!!! The 25L is the perfect balance travel pack if your load is not too heavy. Small laptop (Mine is MacBookAir 11”) or iPad, plus all mobile chargers,, a change of clothes, toiletries, extra layer, book, magazines, snacks...THIS IS YOUR BAG!!! If you need to haul heavy for airline friendly travel, get a framed bag!!! Get the 24/7 or Radial 26/34 from Osprey.

    Great Multi-Purpose Pack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I snagged this pack to accompany on century rides and day hikes. When you're in the saddle for 7+ hours it's nice to know you have everything you need and more. I couldn't rant enough about this frankly. Has all the bells and whistles. Love the strips of reflection throughout, the hard ties on the zippers for easy access while riding. Built in rain fly is phenomenal; protective and reflective! I love the separation in compartments. The bottom acts as my shoe/med kit pocket, in the middle my tools are perfectly organized and the main compartment is just large enough to hold all of my layers. The adjustments have adjustments on this thing. If you were even considering getting this, just do it.
