It's going the distance.
Instead of dealing your gear annoyingly jostling around on your back, focus on setting a new trail PR with the Osprey Packs Duro 15 Hydration Pack. Doing more with less, this true vest-pack provides bounce-free stability and utilitarian comfort as you log mile after mile.
Its tough nylon design holds up against encounters with narrow slot canyons and snagging branches, while the hipbelt wrap with zippered pockets not only stabilizes the ride, but also keeps the essentials right at your finger tips. An included Hydraulics 2.5L reservoir with attached hose and sternum magnet frees up your hands for easy drinking when you're in the middle of a 5K, and the zippered main compartment and multiple pockets ensure you bring along your gloves, hat, headlamp, extra layers, GPS, and any energy gels you might need during your outing.

Do-it-all hike & trail run day pack
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Osprey has yet to disappoint me and keeps the tradition strong with this pack. I bought to be used as a blend for day hiking and trail running and it does both great.
For hiking... I've taken this on a number of ~5 mile hikes and even as a light pack for an 11-mile day trek up a 14er here in CO, La Plata. At 15L, it has just the right amount of space for layers, food plus that 2.5L Osprey branded Hydrapak won't let you down. I wasn't sure what I would think about the many different pockets all just for 15L, but I've grown to really like it for organizing different pieces of gear and clothing, like gloves and beanie for the colder starts. And the 2 pull tabs at the top are great to store trekking poles, given they aren't quite as accessible on the go as other Osprey packs that have it on the shoulder straps.
For trail running, it does just as well. Most important first - bouncing. Adjustability of chest, shoulder and side straps mean you can really get this pack dialed in to keep all that annoying bounce down. If 15L seems a bit excessive for a running pack, there's some truth to it, but it keeps me carrying some of the necessities like a waterproof and you can skip the large 2.5L reservoir in favor of front pocket soft flasks for shorter runs. Speaking of the front pockets, different sizes and options are great. Easy to carry a phone, soft flasks, gels/chews, all very accessible.
If you're looking for a great, do-it-all hiking & trail running day pack, this should be near the top of your list.
