Great pack with a couple tweaks

This is an excellent hydration pack for summer running when you need to carry significant water but not much gear. The adjustment straps in front and along the sides allow you to dial in just the right tension. The hose clip diameter is too big in my opinion, allowing the clip to move around on the hose. I had a smaller clip from an old pack which I use instead to keep it in one place. Also, the magnetic clip on the upper strap moves around so I use a little tape to keep it in one spot. Finally, I cut off a few inches off the plastic hose to reduce its length so the bite valve is at the right spot for me. This is easily accomplished and in fact, instructions are included with the pack on how to adjust the hose length. Once those tweaks were made the pack works great.

The Best hydration pack EVER

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This pack is incredible. A long time user of "camelback", I decided to venture out and try something new. I am SO glad I did and had no clue what I was missing. This pack feels like nothing is on your back. The material is light and stretchy with no bounce while wearing. I wear it biking, skiing and running and it is incredible.

Awesome review Elizabeth! Osprey is renowned for making both comfortable and supportive suspension systems for their packs. Glad this one is working out so well for you!

I don't like hydration packs

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I'm not a big fan of hydration packs, but recently I got a new full suspension bike that only had room for one bottle, so... To put it in context, I normally would ride with bottles and a Sawyer squeeze to avoid wearing a pack; I just don't like the weight, the hot sweaty back, or the way it slams the back of your helmet when you go over logs, etc. Opsrey hydration packs do the best job though-I've owned a couple of Raptor packs, and their unique flat sided hydration bladder REALLY works wonders on keeping it glued to your back. I had been looking for a solution that would work for this new bike, and had looked at the Camelbak Chase vest, but knew how good my other Osprey packs had worked, and decided to give this one a try. Wow-this thing is great! It stays put (I mean like glued to your back), and stays high enough you can still use your jersey pockets for snacks, mini pumps, maps, etc. I've used this on prob 5 rides or so already, and am really enjoying it. I love the phone pocket on the left chest; its well covered up and doesn't affect the wrap of the shoulder strap (iPhone X). It has a good mix of pockets, small ones for snacks/snacks in progress/gels, and then bigger pockets behind those that hold the remainder of you food, CO2, mutli tool, you name it. The pocket is about the depth of a pack of Clif Bloks. I've tried it with substantial weight up front (mini pump in the pocket, food, and multi tool), in a effort to see if you need to counterbalance the bladder weight, and it really didn't make a difference-this thing carries great even without that. The back pocket is pretty small-you can fit an additional SS jersey or a wind vest, but that's about all. If you are looking for a medium capacity hydration solution, this is IT, what a great product. More colors options would be nice. I'm 5'7", and about 175lbs and bought the M/L.

Christopher, THANK YOU for such a thoughtful review! So glad you enjoy this pack! Happy Trails! Leta Osprey Rep
