    Go light. Go fast.

The Osprey Daylite Backpack Attachment is ideal for minimalist missions, fast-paced hikes, and travel itineraries where lightweight carrying and minimal bulk is of utmost importance. It's an ingenious add-on to larger Osprey packs, specializing in carrying only the essentials when a larger pack is simply overkill. Hydration-compatibility means it'll accept an Osprey Hydraulics reservoir (not included) when you're walking long distances, ascending high altitudes, or dealing with hot climates.

Spacer Mesh shoulder straps bolster the pack without soaking you in built-up perspiration on those steamy summer days. The pack's main compartment offers panel access for quickly grabbing and stashing items on the move. Inside the main area, the internal slip works to secure your hydration reservoir, doubling as a handy space for a small tablet. As a convenient bonus, there's a front organizer pocket with integrated clip for attaching keys and other necessities.

For enhanced functionality, the Daylite attaches to the following Osprey packs: Aether/Ariel series, Volt/Viva series, Ace 75, Shuttle series, Sojourn Series, Farpoint 80, and Porter series.

    • Compact daypack for fast-moving hikes and travel
    • Hydration-compatible design (reservoir not included)

    • Spacer Mesh shoulder harness provides breathable support
    • Main compartment with panel-loading access

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a nice bag if you have a few things you want to take with you on a hike, or to run some errands on your bike.

    Superior Design & Quality

Great daypack with superior design and quality. Very comfortable to wear on hot days because of the vented back. Attaches securely to my Osprey Porter 46 with compatable clips. I can attach loaded or empty for use when I need a daypack. Top quality material and zippers.

      Solid Daypack

This is a lovely light daypack, a daylite if you will. The features are pretty but it's got everything you need for a dayhike - hydration compatibility, plenty of space for a rain layer/camera/goodies, comfortable mesh. I like the integrated clip in the front loader to attach gear to. Also, a fantastic price point. It's minimalist without feeling light at all on usability.

        Solid Daypack

        Great day pack option!

This pack is great for short day hikes where you want to be hands-free and have your essentials with you. It's a lot more minimal than other Osprey packs which I'm actually a fan of. Most of the time I don't carry a lot with me and just want a few things with me.

The 13 liter is great for a thin layer, snacks, a couple water bottles, keys, and sunglasses. It carries comfortably and I love the thin hip belt. It doesn't do much for support, but does keep the pack close to my body which makes it more comfortable.

It has a nice, flexible back panel which keeps the pack from collapsing in on itself when it's not stuffed to capacity. It also keeps things from digging into your back if you have some bulkier items inside.

Overall, a good go-to for a minimal day pack if you're looking for something to carry your essentials!

Hailey, I love this Daylite so much - it has to be one of the versatile and simple packs that Osprey makes. AND it's $50!! Can't beat it! Top it off with an All Mighty Guaranty as well, and Osprey has you covered.

          Enjoy -

          Perfect size for short hikes!

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this bag because you can easily pack all of your essentials while being comfortable and light. The bag actually has great organization inside, both pockets are surprisingly large and each one has some internal organization. There are two water bottle pockets on the sides, I like to use one for a water bottle and the other for a quick grab pocket. The compression straps help keep everything from sloshing around.

Overall a great hiking pack or quick summit pack!

          Perfect size for short hikes!

          Stoked on this bag!

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just got this as my new hiking pack. It is perfect! Not too big and not too small. I like how it is low profile and fits everything I need to hit the trails. It is nice for biking to and from work occasionally too. Definitely would recommend!

Bigger than anticipated, not a bad thing

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a pretty cool bag. It's a little larger than anticipated but that is an added bonus. I like that it's hydration compatible. It's the perfect bag for day hikes, commutes to and from work, used as a carry on for traveling and just all around use. I was pleasantly surprised with the 13L pack. You can fit a good amount of stuff into this bag!

          Exactly what it should be

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this pack. I needed a day pack because I was using an oversized school backpack that kept giving me chafe marks on my collar bone from the straps. I'm happy to report this pack has great straps that do not pinch or cause any issues! It's finally nice to have a lightweight pack. It seems obvious, but you don't realize how much every ounce of weight matters until you get legit, lightweight gear. I also got the water bladder that goes with this pack. I don't know why I waited so long to get a water bladder.. I can cut my hike times way down with a bladder because I'm not constantly pulling out my water bottle. I can keep moving and drinking at the same time. I highly recommend this pack and the bladder that goes with it!

          Perfect day pack.

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used this pack for day hikes, as a carry on, and as my bag for bike commutes and it has held up amazingly. It fits everything I'll need without being bulky and is comfortable enough to carry loads up mountains without back pain. I can just fit my 13in Mac in the large compartment which makes it oh so convenient as a carry on for flights where I have to check a bag. Love this little pack!

          Great Little Pack!

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This pack is great for day hikes! Its small and comfortable but can hold a very surprising amount. The front zip pocket has little mesh organizer pockets which I found very helpful to hold keys and chapstick. Also, love the big side pockets and that it has hydration sleeve!

          Perfect Day Pack!

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wanted a smaller day pack for little hikes and this one worked perfectly! It is not too big or too small. It fits what you need for a day hike and is pretty light weight. It has side pockets to put bottles or things, a big main compartment, and a smaller front compartment. There is a sleeve in the back for a water reservoir! I put a 3L one in and it fit perfectly! The Tahoe Blue color is gorgeous in person! I can't wait to get more use of of this.

          Perfect size!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this pack! Compact but plenty of features to stay organized. You have your large, panel loading main compartment that makes it easy to locate gear with a multifunction interior sleeve provides plenty of room to bring everything you'll need for a day. Also, the Spacer Mesh shoulder harness provides awesome breathability and comfort. This is the perfect size pack.

          Great pack!

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Perfect pack for a day hike with room for a hydro pack, some snacks, and even a hydro flask. Took this guy for a weekend trip down to southern Utah paired with the Osprey Packs Hydraulics Hydration Reservoir and had plenty of room for all the extra thing I probably didn't need.

          She takes this everywhere

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this bag for my girlfriend as a day pack but she uses it for everything now..work back, school bag and obviously hiking. Seems to be a great size for any day activities. The only thing she said she's missing is a more supportive waist belt but as long as the bag isn't overly weighted it seems to be good enough.

What kind/size rain cover would you recommend for this pack or the daylite plus?

Hey Ian! I would recommend getting the Osprey HI-Vis Pack cover. The item number on our site is OSP002N. All you need to do is copy and paste it into the search bar. The best size to fit this pack will be the XS. If you have any more questions please let me know!

It says the Hydraulics reservoir fits with this bag, would all sizes work? Or would you suggest one size over another?

Is the Daylite day pack water resistant or water proof?
