Bitstream 30L Backpack
As its name suggests, the Osprey Bitstream Backpack caters to your tech-heavy, data-streaming lifestyle. Designed as a commuter-friendly pack, the Bitstream boasts a sleek, rounded silhouette that decidedly sets itself apart from the swarms of messenger bags.
A generous main compartment offers easy organization for lunch and work necessities, as does the front organizer pocket. The padded laptop sleeve features an internal tablet sleeve for an all-inclusive, one-stop-shop sort of deal. Additionally, the lower, zippered compartment fashions a removable PowerHouse cord organizer, which makes compartmentalizing chargers of all shapes and sizes easy as Pi. Speaking of pie, the Bitstream offers a well-balanced, eating err—carrying experience with its padded shoulder straps, stabilization straps, and webbing hip belt, so you're able to carry your haul confidently and comfortably.

Great Commuter Pack
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I think that this is the perfect daily commuter pack. I first used it for air travel and it fit everything I needed as a carry on pack with a checked bag with the rest of my luggage. It honestly had more room than I needed. It comfortably fit my laptop, kindle, change of clothes, scarf, box of meds, water bottle, pens, notebook, and smaller necessities with room to spare. It was nice to have the extra space to stash my jacket. This pack pack I think thrives for a city and/or bike commuter in New York or San Fran. It is big enough to carry everything you need for the office and a change of clothes for the gym after work or bike clothes. These can be tucked away in the bottom pocket so you don't pull them out while you're rolling up to a meeting and need to quickly grab your laptop from the main compartment. It also has a reflective hit on the back AND you can attach a bike light to the pack itself.

Capacious Commuter
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Spacious main compartment that has enough room to fit a monstrous GMAT review textbook, full change of clothes, random item (Jetboil in my case), full apple charge cord, and a few other regular sized books. Multiples sleeves on the inside back panel enough for Laptop, various notes, and a kindle to all be stored separately without taking up excess space. I also threw a pair of climbing shoes in the bottom compartment easily (did the same for a DSLR and lens, for a bit, but then realized I'd likely forget they were in there at some point and drop the pack, so decided against that route). Carry's well with all that in there. Also makes you look like your a professional who's in with the times.

Did not live up to expectations
Zippers are of lesser quality that I would have liked and did not zip fluidly. Lack of internal compression causes lots of shifting unless completely empty or full. Good concept, bad implementation

Cavernous...In a good way.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
When I first purchased this bag, I was overwhelmed by the size as I use it for work commuting and carry a nalgene, hydroflask for coffee, and my laptop. As I grew into it, I have come to really appreciate the size as I can toss in a shell or hat (or more than one of each of those!) Quality is great as expected. This could be used as a carry on to quickly move through an airport for a quick overnight.

Pretty Cool Pack
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Overall this is a good pack. The material is high quality and very durable, pretty water resistant, fits everything you need for a commute. Good looking pack that conforms to your body for a snug, comfortable fit. All the seams are stitched well and strong, just what you'd expect from an osprey pack. Only downsides would be that the pack left me wanting a little bit more. Maybe more pockets or unique features. The main compartment could be a little bit bigger for the overall size of the pack.

Mostly a great pack
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I really liked this pack initially, and thought that it was going to be exactly what I was looking for, in the end though, it fell a little short. Lets start with the pros. Outer material seems to be fairly rugged and durable. Great laptop storage and accessibility, somehow managed to fit my ancient Dell in there just fine. You can get at it from the top or the side which is a huge bonus. As is the fleece lined tablet compartment. The front organizer pocket is easy to access and well laid out. The PowerHouse cord organizer is a nice bonus also. The pocket that the cord organizer lives in at the bottom of the pack really cuts into the total storage space of the main compartment and creates a very narrow awkward space at the bottom that really serves no purpose. You can't get anything in there except maybe a wadded up t shirt. Another feature I initially thought was great were the document pockets in the main compartment. They are pretty tight, wouldn't recommend trying to shove loose papers in there, but if you keep your business papers in folders or something, you should be good to go.

Perfect Commuter
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
This pack is awesome, it is great for a commuter who needs a sleeve for a laptop or tablet. It's a pretty lightweight pack and I really liked the feel of the nylon twill fabric. Osprey stands by their products no matter what it is. I always buy Osprey for that reason. I have no fear that this bag will hold up against a consistence commute.
