Ariel Pro 65L Backpack
Designers at Osprey are no strangers to setting the bar high for lightweight backpacks, and the new Ariel Pro 65 Women's Backpack proves it. It packs in a whopping 65-liters of space, while weighing in firmly under 4lbs — a pretty remarkable feat for a backcountry ready expedition pack. It does it by integrating featherweight, but durable NanoFly fabric with the new Lightwire suspension system, carving out the perfect combination of support and weight savings to keep you going when you're pushing up near-vertical faces, striving to make it over the mountain pass before dark sets in, so you can set up camp for the night by fireside, instead of with the dim glow of headlamps.
To ensure you've got the conveniences when you want them, but not when you don't, Osprey equips the Ariel Pro with tons of removable pockets and straps. If you're going on an ice-scaped adventure, you'll be glad to find the two ice-tool straps with cord attachments, but if you're going for a lightweight summer camping trip, ditch the ice straps and toss on your sleeping pad strap to keep it secured in back. The top lid pocket is zippered for storing gear, but can also be removed when you want to shed weight. In back there are two removeable compression straps that stabilize your load, and reinforced cord loops let you bring along an additional Daylite daypack or Alpine Pocket, so leaving for a quick out and back hike doesn't have to come along with your 65-liter load.
- A pack to take on the weekend expeditions, or month long adventures
- 65-liter capacity is ideal for week to weekend-long backpacking trips
- Take the load off your shoulders with Lightwire suspension
- Airscape back panel keeps cool air moving against your skin
- Comfort your hips and shoulders with contouring Isoform4 harness

- Lightweight construction saves you from carrying extra pack weight
- Item #OSP00AK

Osprey All Day
I'm something of an Osprey evangelist, having used their packs while working as a guide for the last ten years. The Ariel Pro 65 is the latest addition to my knapsack quiver and I have been delighted with it! In addition to what other reviews have mentioned, I really like that the pack can be customized based on the length/type of trip. The side pockets can be removed for faster and lighter trips, or used in place for extra snack storage. The removable pack brain, too, is a great feature, to have a little less going on for shorter or lighter-packing trips. As always, I *love* the fit and suspension of Osprey. This pack has an adjustable back panel with velcro, so you can fine tune the torso length as you needed. The one thing I feel like this pack is missing is a front mesh pocket for extraneous items. For me, I love the ease of stuffing a spare layer in the outside for easier access than having it inside the pack. Overall, very excited to keep using this on more adventures!

Straps for EVERYTHING
This Pro Pack is not messing around! I've used this car camping, backpacking, and traveling and I love how it performs. It was enough room inside the main compartment for my sleeping bag, pad, backpacking pillow, clothes, food and camp stove. On the outside area I was able to put my tent on the outside, strap a day pack onto it, and with a couple carbiners the various straps allowed me to put my bear spray, chacos and other things on the outside, along with my trekking poles. The torso length is adjustable which is lovely and I have high hips. The two issues I had with the pack were 1) not a lot of water bottle holding ability, and 2) the strap for the tent starts and comes back to one point, so it pivots and flaps around, so I had to secure it by other means.

Non nonsense pack.
The Ariel Pro won't be the pack for those just getting into backpacking but for the seasoned Pro who doesn't need or want all the bells and whistles, and weight associated with them. It's top load only with very few pockets. That keeps the weight down. The Ariel Pro is the Women's, the Aether Pro is the Men's version of this pack. Want all the bells and whistles? Go for the non-Pro Aether or Ariel instead. There are plenty of straps and attachment points to add additional gear to the outside. If you don't want/need those straps you can optionally remove them to lighten your load even more. This is highly customizable. Compatible with both the Daylite and Daylite Plus daypacks. Those clip right on for added storage and for use as a daypack or summit pack. Photo taken in the Zion Narrows

A Pack Built to Go Places
After a 4 day, 35+ mile trip in the Wind River Range, I can definitely say I love this pack and can't wait to take it out again. It carried my heavier cold weather kit comfortably and I love how it keeps everything nice and compact so I never feel off balance. I really appreciated the easy to access water bottle pocket on the hip belt and the large pocket on the other side. It's a little more stripped down than the standard osprey pack but still has plenty of options for packing it just right.
