Gave this as a gift...again

I've put it through the wringer

I bought this as a gift for a lady friend awhile back. Now i am buying it for a new lady friend. These things last longer than my relationships. They maybe cursed though

Great Pack

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Osprey packs fit really well and are all so adjustable. This pack is the perfect size. I am 5'10" and was hesitant on what size but the Medium pack fits well. As long as you are patient with your first use, and make adjustments along the way, you can get your pack to fit perfectly. Another bonus is the day pack that is attached as part of the bigger pack. This is really useful on multi day trips when you want a smaller backpack for day trips.

Best carry...

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The Osprey Ariel is the best carrying pack I've tried in 35+ years of backpacking. It makes a 30 pound load feel like half that weight! The frame sizing options and adjustability create a perfect fit with stable loads (no side to side pack sway). I especially like all the compression options. They allow me to shape the load. So far, I've used this for treadmill hill training with 30 pound weights. Am excited to take it for a real mountain adventure over the holidays.

Alway

Osprey is my go to brand. I don't own enough and too many at the same time. I use every last one of them for anything from flying to multi day camp trips. I can't complain about this brand ever. It fits great, breathable on the back, doesn't move around. Withstands my clumsy falls.

I will never use another brand again. Osprey backs its stuff. The pack is comfortable and is tough as nails. Never had any issues with it.

No Back Pain

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

After trying on many packs I landed on the Ariel. The waist straps hug just enough and aren't as stiff as other packs to get around your body. The anti gravity system really seems to to distribute the weight on your back properly and the mesh keeps you dry. Lots of nice storage solutions including the sleeping bag compartment. The best thing about this bag, besides the fit, is the versatility. The removable day lid is my day hike bag - its the perfect size and even has a spot for a bladder. Ive only used used the full bag once on a ten mile hike and I stayed comfortable the entire trip. Definitely looking forward to using it more. I am 5'4, 120ish and ordered a size small

So happy with this pack

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My wife purchased this pack after lots of research. She has only used it once, but first impressions were very positive. Even with a sub-par and overly heavy pack job, the pack remained comfortable. Lots of great pockets with easy access on the waist and sides of the backpack. Looking forward to getting in some more miles with this pack.

So good to hear, Matthew! Thank you for sharing! Leta Osprey Rep

How much weight can this carry? I'm looking for a hiking backpack that can carry 80 pounds
