    Clearwater Fly Rod

Remember to breathe when you jump a tarpon in Islamorada, land a good-sized brown on the Provo, or fight a feisty rainbow while you wade in a high-mountain Montana lake. The Clearwater Fly Rod casts with power and accuracy while maintaining a sensitive feel for a variety of species in rivers, lakes, or streams. The Clearwater rods are specifically designed for freshwater or saltwater, and all rods feature Helios technology for lighter weight and more response with flex profiles that are well-suited for each rod's application. A gunsmoke aluminum reel seat provides improved durability and longevity—especially on the Clearwater's saltwater rods.

    • Fly rod that runs the gamut of fly fishing situations
    • Helios technology creates a lighter, more responsive rod
    • Gunsmoke aluminum reel seat is saltwater-safe
    • Chrome snake guides for low-friction line flow
    • Cork and rubber fighting butt on saltwater rods (#6-12)
    • Four-piece configuration is easy to transport
    • Divided tube protects the rod during storage
    • Item #ORV003U

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this as a gift for my brother he absolutely loved it and it was exactly what he thought. it was super light even with 9wt and incredibly responsive.

    Nice and Responsive!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Have this rod in a 5 wt and love how versatile and responsive it is. Paired it with the Orvis Battenkill Fly Reel and they have been working like a charm together.

    Great Value

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought the 9 ft. 5 wt. Orvis Clearwater as part of my first setup and I love it. I have probably used this rod on the water at least 100 times, both in salt and fresh water. The Clearwater is a medium action rod that has been a great all around trout rod for casting dries, nymph rigs and even medium-large streamers.

The only complaint I have about this rod is the double screw on the reel seat sometimes gets stuck and is difficult to realign.

    Great Value

    9ft 5wt Clearwater rod

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Incredible rod for the price, only thing that irks me is that the dots on the ferrules don't line up correctly with the line guides.. I suppose it could be expected from a product made in China, I would rather have no dots on the rod sections at all if they're going to be off.
