Traverse 40L Backpack

Ready for long mountain tours but without the weight, the Ortovox Traverse 40L Backpack. Ortovox made this pack on the lighter side, but the main compartment is large enough to hold enough backpacking gear for multi-day treks. Its simplicity gains a versatile performance suitable for daylong ski tours, multi-pitch climbs, or alpine treks.

The Comfort Contact back system ensures permanent air circulation with its cleverly designed contact areas, and the rain cover repels raindrops and moisture to keep your gear safe from the elements. As is standard with Ortovox packs, the Traverse features also include an emergency card, chest strap with signal whistle, bright interior color, compression strap and ski holder. Plus, thanks to a PU-coating, the material is water-resistant, and nylon 210D Duramax Ripstop adds extra durability.

I hiking bag. Not a mountaineering bag.

This is listed as a mountaineering bag. It's not. It's a hiking bag. There's no attachment point for an ice axe... why not? It would add 2 grams to sew in a tiny loop at the bottom and an ice axe is critical for glacier travel and self-arrest... MAJOR skills needed for mountaineering (but not hiking) There are minimal attachment points on the outside i.e. none... other than the ones for an unnecessary helmet carry which comes housed in an even more useless special pocket. If you insist on adding a helmet carry, lose the pocket. Then speaking of pockets... a laptop sleeve on the inside?! What mountain is anyone bringing a laptop on? This doesn't even have a removable brain for dropping weight during a summit push. Seriously... who designed this and told you it was for mountaineering? Also, lose the mesh bag outer on the back and use some shock cord instead. Far more useful. There's no secure way of securing your boots to the outside either. Unsuitable for my needs. Will exchange for something designed for mountaineering.
