Swisswool Zebru Jacket

The lightweight, insulated Swisswool Zebru Jacket from Ortovox will keep you warm and comfortable on ski tours and high alpine summits. The Zebru is part of Ortovox's Naked Sheep line and is designed to offer you maximum freedom of movement so you can perform at your best in demanding conditions. Its ergonomic cut, elastic cuffs, hem, and hood create the feeling of ultimate freedom while you ski, backpack, or climb.

The Zebru features no-bulk Swisswool insulation that provides excellent warmth even when wet. This is ideal as an alternative for down in stormy conditions as down loses its insulating properties when wet. Additionally, Swisswool can absorb and release large quantities of moisture, more than synthetic fibers, keeping you warmer and more comfortable with less insulation that if it were insulated with synthetics. Ideal for stormy conditions in the mountains, the insulation is enclosed in Ortovox's Tech-Stretch material that provides breathable, water and wind resistant protection and high mobility so you can get after your goals in comfort.

Wool lining is awesome, the jacket definitely keeps me warm in all sorts of environments and I often find myself working up a sweat even in cold weather. The jacket is great, but it's of the style that usually has hand pockets and I endlessly reach for these non-existent pockets whenever I wear it. Just a personal habit I guess but it's confusing for me. Last gripe is that the sizing and fit is a bit off, it feels too large on me, but the waist is constantly riding up and seems as if it isn't low enough/long enough. Weird combo of too large and too small in different ways.

This jacket is so stinkin' soft I feel like these images can't do it proper justice. First off, I love how ORTOVOX women's line fits our feminine figures as ladies that adventure. I grew up wearing men's clothes as a young snow sports athlete because clothes for women didn't exist. After wearing ORTOVOX women's line I won't go back or buy from anyone else. This jacket though- is out-of-this-world comfy. I live in Aspen, CO, and its great for throwing around my waist or in a backpack "just in case." You never know what the weather is going to be like here. Sometimes, I even bring it into town when I am shopping or meeting up with friends for a snack because it's actually super cute and figure-flattering. This is a staple piece for me!

It's a great later, the warmth is amazing without sacrificing breathability. I'm really liking this as something in between a thermal layer and a puffy in terms of warmth. The jacket fits large, I'm a slim build and find it's got a lot of room around my waist and the arms are slightly long, even in the smallest size. Not having pockets is a psychological game, I find myself reaching for them as they are on my other jackets and not finding them! I'll just have to learn.
