    Peak Light 32L Backpack

It's simple math really. The less weight you have on your back, the easier the alpine ascent. And you can always go lighter with the Ortovox Peak Light 32L Backpack. Its 32L capacity and slim 2lb weight are already appealing to minimalist-minded mountaineers, but you can remove the top lid, waist belt, and even the supportive wire frame to shed even more weight down to a single pound. Ortovox makes nearly every single product with a bit of wool in it, and the Peak Light is no exception. Ortovox placed Swiss Wool virtually everywhere that would touch your body to stay comfortably dry under sweaty, icy, snowy situations. The rest of the back panel, as well as the shoulder straps and waist belt, have a bit of cushioning to keep you comfy as you make your ascent. Despite its weight-conscious, minimalist-minded design, the Peak Light still boasts a plethora of features to add convenience to any climbing or skiing adventure, like external attachments for climbing ropes, skis, helmets, axes, and trekking poles to leave more room inside the pack for layers, food, water, a map, and more.

Perfect for cragging and alpine climbs!

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Perfect size for a full day alpine climbing or cragging. My favorite features of the pack are the J-shaped front panel access to my whole kit and the dedicated "safety" pocket where I store my first aid kit. I am an Ortovox Ambassador and received this pack to test and use.

    Lighten your load

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is the svelter version of my all time favorite pack the peak45. This thing is trimmed down to just the essentials and you can trim it down even more if you need to. It still has a circumferential zip that makes getting to the bottom of your pack easy and enough pockets to organize your stuff without forgetting which pocket has your snacks. It carries skis, ice tools, and/or a rope on the outside no problem, and has a suspension system comfortable enough to handle when the pack is fully loaded. The material is burly and quite water resistant without weighing the pack down too much. This pack has become my go-to for fast and light alpine missions, with and without skis. I am a full time, year-round mountain guide and a member of the Ortovox North American team I received this gear to test and use.

    Great alpine pack

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

After using this pack for a little over a month it has replaced a handful of others as my go-to alpine and backcountry gear hauler. Super lightweight, well designed, and durable I feel like this pack has everything I need and nothing I don't. Well done Ortovox!
