Not waterproof
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
Nice cross between trail runner and light boot, but I just took a 3 mile hike with some wet leaves and ended up with some very wet socks. The fabric absorbed water quickly, in the toe and sides of the shoe.

These waterproof Trail running and Speed Hiking boots, are quite amazing. They are Very lightweight for a waterproof hiking boot. They have a good amount of cushion, but it's been stiffened up to cope with a harsher terrain, when speed hiking or trail running/walking. They have a nice roomy/wider front toe area, so that there is no uncomfortable rubbing of your foot while hiking. They have an all around stiffer rigidity to the boot body for carrying heavier backpack loads, while maintaining stability. The lower half is completely wrapped in a touch abrasion resistant material to protect the shoe. I have scuffed up against numerous grounded branches, sides of rocks, and just about everything else. They took a licking without damaging the core shoe, which is very important. The waterproofing is 100% reliable, because I have tried submerging these shoes in stream crossing water up to my ankle, for a solid minute. I had zero water penetrate into the shoe or get my sock wet. These just work. I recommend these shoes for specific areas: Trail walking/running, light hiking, and speed hiking. I would not buy these as a dedicated heavy hiking boot, because they just are not setup for that. That's when you would want a very rugged and heavy hiking boot. Use the right tool for the right job, right!? thanks P.S. I wanted to mention, that the sizing runs true to size to slightly larger. I typically buy a 10.5 in a sneaker and an On running shoes, but I wear a 10 in regular boots and hiking boots. I bought these in a 10.5 thinking they would run like a sneaker, but they run more like a true boot/hiking boot. So make sure you get the right size for what you wear in a hiking boot or regular boot. I didn't need to send these back, but I could have worn a 10. I have about a thumbs width left at the toe.
