Owned 2 pairs of rainbows before these--after that experience found their flops to be meh, and their marketing/warranty to be somewhat exaggerated/greenvertised. Which brings me to the Olukais...like others have said there's a short break in period. Mine took maybe a few days. After that, have found these to be the most comfortable flops I have owned--nice enough to wear to work or around town, you can dress them up or down. The details are gorgeous and they look great on or off your feet. I expect these to last a very long time!! Pretty sold on this brand for the foreseeable future! Fair warning...if you are a half size, size UP. Ordered a 9.5 and the 9s were too small I had to go with a 10

Good casual sandals
These are great casual flip flops. Very appealing to the eye and can be worn with almost anything. Takes a few times wearing them to break in, but once that period is over they are very comfortable. This is my second pair, they will last you a long time!

Great Present for the Pops
I purchased these for my dad and he can't stop raving about the traction and how cozy they are once they mold to your foot. So far as flip flops are concerned, the style is great! You can dress them up or down. Highly recommended

Past the break-in -> new favorites
I got past the break in period after 3days. The first 2 days were painful. Pro Tip: soak the sandal in water, walk around, and let dry. This helps the leather strap conform to the foot. I replaced a pair of Rainbow sandals with these. I had worn the soles of the Rainbows slick. These sandals has exceptional traction with non-marking rubber lugs.

Cinderella, Dorothy and Me
We all have our slippers; mine just happen to be leather and made by OluKai. I'm pretty sure I have birthmarks younger than my sandal tan, so I believe myself (and you should, too) when I say that in all my years of wedging cow floss between my toes that the OluKai Mea Ola are the most comfortable, most supportive, most durable, most subjectively stylish, objectively expensive, and most astonishingly comfortable (did I mention that already) pair of sandals I've ever owned. I mean, is 'Mea Ola' Hawaiian pidgin for amazing? It must be because these are a superlative pair of footwear. After years of abuse, my feet just couldn't take the day-in and day-out degradation of sandals anymore. The leather straps and soles from other manufacturers had always done their job insomuch as their job was to give me an easy pair of footwear to slide into after work; something that went with whatever pair of jeans were lying closest. But in terms of performance the other glass case sandal offerings were coming up short for me. So, in hyperbolic desperation I turn to these OluKai looking for the support that both my sandals and always underfoot dog just couldn't provide. I'll admit the tooling on the sole and the weaving on the strap were a bit aggressive for me (as was the price), but after slipping these on for the first time I said, "A-ha. Mea Ola, take on me. Take me on." And, I'm not sure I've ever seen the magnetic strip on my card more attracted to a card reader than on the day of The Purchase. After working these over I have zero regrets about my life choices or these sandals. These fit like a dream from the get go; I loved not having to break-in the strap; and sole molded around my foot like plastic wrap at a hot July picnic. The styling eventual grew on me as did the price--I'm willing to pay for supreme quality and something that effortless slips into my wardrobe. They work just as well at fording a river as they do at mopping up craft cocktails from the floors of an obscene rooftop lounge. The only hesitation you may hold is weather you actually want to wear these regularly because they're such a piece of work: masterful work. But all footwear should serve utility first, so I say wear these thin. You deserve it. --That's how I'm suppose to end this, right?

Best flip flop ever?
After having the legendary Rainbow turn down a warranty request for a pulled through toe strap I went on to the market for a new flip flop. Thank you OluKai for possibly taking the role as the best flip flop ever. Its very early to tell how durable they will will be but they look better and feel better right out of the box than any sandal Ive ever had. I hope they will treat me better than Rainbow should an obvious defect show up, like the pulled through toe strap I had on my Rainbow North cove.
