MK 106
First time on the water and it performed flawlessly. Outfitted it with a LiTime 12v 100ah lithium battery and a Humminbird helix 5 fishfinder. The helix was connected to a noqua 10 ah battery. There is plenty of space in both the front and back of the boat. Turns on a dime and I was able to get a speed of 4.2 mph easily. After 4 hours on the water the battery was barely touched. This kayak is well thought out and well built. The predrilled holes for electronics made installing the fishfinder a breeze.

Fantastic Skinny Water Fishing Machine
I've fished this thing hard about once a week for a year and a half in a harsh saltwater environment. Overall, I'd highly recommend the platform for anyone who wants to go where nobody else with a powered vessel can fish. I've had to replace some of the electrical connectors and steering cable fittings due to corrosion, but I've had no issues with the motor or controls.

Awesome yak!
Put this powerhouse in the river and did amazingly well. Had a good current and wind (Wyoming) against me and had no issues getting up river in it. Price is well worth it. I have two pdl kayaks and honestly I will probably never use them again. Good to have for friends I suppose.

KING OF THE EVERGLADES
This 106 Sportsman powered by Minn Kota has been a game changer for my style of fishing, which is mainly deep in the Everglades here in South Florida. For one thing, the motor in this Kayak is tucked neatly up into the hull. In other motorized Kayaks like the 120 (as example only) that motor hangs down twice the distance. It has to for the spot lock feature. It would snag/hit just about everything where I fish, which is mainly in very shallow hydrilla matted water. Even on other Kayaks with regular aftermarket electric motors, just not as neatly tucked in like the 106 Sportsman here. I have taken this 106 Sportsman through the thickest and gnarliest stuff imaginable without the slightest issue. It's size is perfect for knitting through the sawgrass islands. It's light enough to launch ANYWHERE solo, which was a must for me in the glades, day or night. Yet it's long enough and wide enough to stand, pitch, and flip....very stable. The boat is water tight. I have yet to see a drop inside the hull. Provision for things like holding/stowing a measuring board was logically thought out. Goes to show that the designers used their "fishing brains" when designing this craft! The little things make ALL the difference. For a battery, I went with a high quality lithium and fish all day, even double or triple days without needing a charge. I can go miles and miles with no worries. But even if unpowered, I can paddle it very easily because it's not a long and heavy boat. Very dependable. My basic point here: we can all give our take on Kayaks but location and intended usage wins the bell. For me, for my location, and for my intended usage, Old Town hit it out of the park with this boat!

Southpaw’s dream kayak.
This is the perfect kayak for a left handed person to operate. I almost always troll baits holding my fishing rod with my left hand and adjusting the throttle with my right hand. The sportsman106 mk should be offered with the throttle on the left side for the majority of people who are right handed.

Stable but leaks
Bought this during the pandemic, great kayaks but leaks real bad when pedaling and standing.

Excellent fishing kayak!
Ordered my 106 MK through Eco Fishing in July of 2020. It arrived the end of October, 2020. Only had a chance to use it once before winter set in. I’ve now been out about 15 times in it and love it! It’s easy to load and transport on a simple flatbed utility trailer. Super stable on the water. I have a 100 ah Amped Outdoor lithium battery that will easily last all day. I’ve gone 15 miles trolling and only used 50% of the battery. My suggestions for Oldtown would be to factory install a battery meter that will work for lithium batteries (currently they only work for lead acid. If using a lithium you need to buy and install your own meter), and possibly install an anchor trolly as an option. The kayak is perfect for inland waters. I would highly recommend!

Motor is really handy
Very fun kayak. No problems so far. Can't wait to get off work tomorrow going straight to my nearest body of water.

Poor Quality!
The electrical system went out the first day! The Hull looks like a Kid painted it with a brush! The seat went out after 5 times out! And I'm only 220lb I had to Pre Order this If I would of see this before I paid for it I would not gotten it!

Love my Sportsman 106MK
Purchased the Sportsman 106MK in February and I absolutely love it. This is the 3rd, Kayak / inflatable I have owned, and I know it will be the last. This unit has everything a Kayak fisherman needs, and provides great comfort. I Didn't want the hassle of fuel, motor maintenance, and a large towable boat, this is exactly what I needed. I've had it in the water several times, and each time, I am surprised with how easy it cuts through the water. Other fisherman constantly comment on the kayak, and ask where I got it. This morning I heard one man tell his fishing partner, as they fished from the shoreline, "that's the perfect boat"...I agree! I am so pleased with the responsiveness, the speed and stability, and the comfort. At 6'1" I thought this might be too small, but I was wrong. I have plenty of room for my gear, and can fish in this kayak all day long. Thank you Old Town!
