Skegs
Where can I get the skegs from for better tracking of my 11.5 Malibu kayak

Happy Paddler
Have a sit in, but no room for dogs. So went with sit on top. Lots of research and a test drive led me to Malibu. Works gr8 for dogs and solo as well. Tracks well. Easy to launch. Happy paddler.

Run!
Well...its just tracks very badly. There's no way to sugarcoat it. It's just not worth the money.

Turn, Turn, Turn
Took it on it maiden voyage in breezy chop on the lake. Felt stable enough but kept turning sideways as soon as I stopped paddling and often I could only paddle on one side to go straight. Defective? Catching the wind? Long time kayaker but at 160 lbs am I just too light for this boat? Got the 11.5 so I could paddle with my big dog. Don’t dare take her along with this level of performance. How does a company named Ocean Kayak make a boat that cannot handle wind or chop? That is exactly what’s going on when ocean paddling!

Great for fishing
I have taken it out a few times since it arrived. I live in Pacific Grove, CA. The kayak is light enough to carry from car to shore. We have some places with sea walls so the weight matters. The Malibu 11.5 has plenty of room for my fishing set up. i went out yesterday. I was able to get to the fish quick. The weather and waves were calm. I caught my limit of rock fish, I had no stability concerns. The kayak maneuvered over the kelp with ease and stayed where I wanted it to. the only thing I want is instructions where I could mount a recessed rod holder.

Great simple boat, heavy duty
Great for heavier people, or when carrying camping gear.

Wonderful Kayak
I just purchase the Malibu 11.5 the other day and have already ridden in it several times. I tested going down a river with class 2 and class 3 rapids and I will say it handled it like a champ! It tracks very well and I felt stable the whole 7 mile trip down the river! I will say the seat cushion could be a little more padded but I really don’t have any complaints other than that. Being that the back on the seat in adjustable I was able to stay sitting up straight to paddle better and my back never hurt once on my 3 hour ride. I would recommend this ocean kayak to any beginner like myself that just wants to have a fun and safe ride!

Love the color!
I do not like that it is hard to keep going in a straight direction when paddling on a river. It wants to veer to the left. The seat does not tighten down far enough to give stable support of the back. I much prefer the caper!
