Why We Like The Sawtooth II Hiking Shoe

The Oboz Women's Sawtooth Hiking Shoes check off all the boxes—lightweight, rugged, and comfortable. A tough Sawtooth sole offers ridiculous traction over varying terrain, so we don't lose our footing over tricky routes, and breathable uppers keep our feet feeling great no matter how hard we're pushing ourselves. Dual-density EVA cushioning in both the insole and midsole lets us hike all the live-long day without getting tired toes; the O Fit footbed is designed with a sculpted arch that places the foot in a neutral position, and the deep heel cushion makes for natural support. Finish the Sawtooth II off with a sturdy heel counter and asymmetrical (aka comfortable) collar, and we have got yourself one ideal hiking shoe.

Solid hiking shoe, but too small for me!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is only a partial review as I only wore them once. I wear a size 11 running shoe, but have done well with a few size 10 hiking shoes. After reading reviews, I thought it was safe to order the size 10 in this one. They fit fantastic at home. They have a really solid all around build with a hefty sole. The thick sole was new to me, but I was ready to test it. My feet have been a little tired after years of rocky chaparral trails with my 4mm soled five fingers. I went 3 miles up an amazing trail, did very well - and gingerly went the remaining 3 downhill; there was nothing I could do to keep my toes from hitting the end of the shoe or rubbing the top of the toe box. Hoping this helps on sizing for you! They?re a good shoe and were quite warm and comfy otherwise.

This is the 5th pair Oboz shoes I've purchased. I've used 3 different styles: summer, winter, and boots. When I tried on my first pair, my problem feet feel in love. That was 5 years ago. I have not worn another brand of shoes since. They hold up, are long lasting, are comfortable, and the waterproof styles can be worn all day in all kinds of weather. They are the only shoe for my feet.

As I?ve aged I?ve started having problems with foot pain and plantar fasciitis. The only thing that keeps me sane these days is walking in the woods so when my feet hurt my mental health suffers. I spent the winter in a pair of Oboz Insulated Bridger boots and loved them so much I decided to try the brand for my summer walking. Right out of the box the Sawtooth?s were very comfortable and I was able to complete my 3+ mile loop with no heel pain at all. I felt stable and sure footed as I moved down the trail. I look forward to many pain free, sanity inducing hours on the trails here in New England this summer.
