Bozeman is a place where an invite to the local trails can happen at anytime during the day. Until recently, I couldn't always join the crew in my “daily drivers.”
That's because I stopped by the office and picked up a pair of both the M-Trail and Hyalite, part of the Oboz Footwear Main Street to Mountains line.
Both provide enough style and comfort to hit the town while still having the rigidity and durability to take on any trail. I no longer need to bring an extra pair of shoes to work since these two powerhouses can last the 9 to 5 and well into the after hours.
The M-Trail has a breathable synthetic mesh upper.
MEN’S M-TRAIL LOW
When I first saw the M-Trail shoe I was immediately excited about the synthetic mesh upper. The breathability and comfort make it great for hot days and short hikes. This keeps feet feeling fresh throughout and after a hike.
The synthetic upper definitely feels stiffer than a suede or leather upper, but I appreciated its the support. The outsole is soft enough to have all-day comfort, but still the right amount of stiffness to handle rocks and roots underfoot. This shoe is very lightweight; therefore I didn’t get any unnecessary fatigue.
These are definitely my new go to everyday shoes. Durable scratch rubber in the toe and heel makes this shoe able to be my best friend on trail for years to come. Hyalite Low
The Hyalite Low has a suede upper and the trademark Oboz Footwear insole and durable outer sole.
MEN’S HYALITE LOW
It’s hard to not copy and paste what I’ve said about the M-Trail shoe, because at first blush, these shoes look the same. Don't be fooled.
The Hyalite feels different than the M-Trail. The main difference is that the Hyalite has a water resistant leather upper that allows the shoe to handle all the elements on trail. The upper definitely molded to my foot well and provided a great out of the box fit.
I wore these from sun up to sun down without any noticeable fatigue. Other than the upper, the Hyalite is a mere clone of the M-Trail making it great to relax and hit the town, while also staying true to the trail.Sole
Both the M-Trail low and Hyalite Low shoe have stayed true to the Oboz story by being reliable and durable.
Choosing when to wear each of these shoes, it really came down to “what is the weather going to be today?”
With any sort of moisture in the air, I would lace up the Hyalite Low for the day. If I was already sweating before I left the house for the day, the M-Trail would be my go-to. These shoes are highly functional daily shoes and I do have to say, they look dang good too!
